202A Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction (F) M'dn
M.A. Gallagher, rider of One Cool Choice trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount's saddle slipped.
202B(i) Kilkenny Vehicle Centre Apprentice H'cap (Division One)The Stewards fined P.Cluskey, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Pindaric (GB), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Pindaric (GB) in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
202B(ii) Kilkenny Vehicle Centre Apprentice H'cap (Division Two)The Stewards enquired into an incident at the first bend involving Silk Cravat (GB), ridden by B.M. Coen, Bellick (GB), ridden by R. Coakley, Guiding, ridden by O.J. Orr, and Downtown Diva, ridden by O. McSweeney, where it appeared Bellick (GB) met with interference and stumbled. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. O. McSweeney gave his evidence in the presence of his master, A.P. Keatley. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that the incident was caused by accidental interference and took no further action.
B.M. Coen, rider of Silk Cravat (GB), trained by John Geoghegan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost his right front shoe and was hampered in-running.
T.P. Madden, rider of Count Of Carabass trained by Miss Hilary McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got upset in stalls and missed the break.
202C Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Suaimhneach, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
202F Byrne Marquees H'capThe Stewards requested a report from Peter Fahey, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Shamad, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. The trainer reported that this horse's most recent run possibly came two quick after its previous run. He also felt that smaller fields seem to suit the horse compared to large field handicaps. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
The Stewards interviewed B.M. Coen, rider of Shamad, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g) (frequency) and having taken his record into account suspended him for 2 race days.
