The Stewards interviewed R.J. Condon, rider of Kells Priory, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that R.J. Condon was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion.

The Stewards requested a report from Louise G. Lyons, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Kells Priory, placed first, as compared with its most recent form. The trainer reported that her charge had disappointed on its previous run at Downroyal on October 29th, when failing to act on the ground. She said her charge was freshened up since that run and felt this, along with more favourable ground conditions had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the content of the report.
