Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr L. Wyer, to amend the distance of this race to 2 miles and 142 yards (+ 12 yards), due to the realignment of the track since declaration time.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the dip about three furlongs from the finish involving Hypotenus (GB), ridden by B.W. Harvey, placed sixth, and Mystical Power, ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed first, where it appeared that Mystical Power made contact with Hypotenus (GB) when manoeuvering out to make his challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence M.P. Walsh stated that his mount latched onto the bit when receiving a bump and ran up onto heels which necessitated a switch outwards. B.W. Harvey stated his mount clipped a heel in the dip at the time that Mystical Power began to run keen when on his inner. He added that he tried to hold his racing line but did not have enough horse under him to do so. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action. Mr Justice Raymond Groarke recused himself from this enquiry and was replaced as Chairman by Mr Peter M. Allen.

The IHRBd Veterinary Officer examined Hypotenus (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr L. Wyer, to amend the distance of this race to 2 miles and 142 yards (+ 12 yards), due to the realignment of the track since declaration time.

L.A. McKenna, rider of Largy Gift, trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hanging badly and stopped very quickly before being pulled up.

B.W. Harvey, rider of Wrecking Ball Paul, trained by Paul Mulligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up.

C.M. Quirke, rider of Aussie Warrior, trained by Thomas R. Hughes, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race.

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr L. Wyer, to amend the distance of this race to 7 furlongs and 6 yards (+ 6 yards), due to the realignment of the track since declaration time.

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr L. Wyer, to amend the distance of this race to 2 miles and 191 yards (+ 12 yards), due to the realignment of the track since declaration time.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr R.W. Barron, rider of Teed Up, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence Mr Barron accepted that he had exceeded the whip guidelines for frequency with the whip. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr Barron was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his recent record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended him for one raceday.

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr L. Wyer, to amend the distance of this race to 7 furlongs and 6 yards (+ 6 yards), due to the realignment of the track since declaration time.

J.A. Powell, rider of Angel Above, trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled during this race.

212F Eventus H'cap

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr L. Wyer, to amend the distance of this race to one mile four furlongs and 90 yards (+ 6 yards), due to the realignment of the track since declaration time.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Expelliarmus, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Voice Of Reason, trained by G.M. Lyons, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
