The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

210A James's Gate M'dn H'dle

B. Hayes, rider of Full Aux Rois (FR) trained by Emmet Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left throughout.

B. Browne, rider of Stone Mason trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung badly left throughout.

Oliver McKiernan, trainer of Stone Mason, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was found to be lame in front post race.

210B Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

E. Walsh, rider of Blowing Dixie (GB) trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the fifth last.

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Military Hill trained by Paul Stafford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a mistake down the back and pulled up thereafter.

The Stewards interviewed D.G. Whelan, rider of Ashqar, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who outlined his inexperience, but accepted that he had breached Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.G. Whelan was in breach of both Regulation 10.3g(frequency) and 10.3(i)(time to respond). Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended D.G. Whelan for 2 racedays.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the second last involving Nibiru, ridden by L.A. McKenna, placed fifth and Shes Some Doll, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan, unplaced, where it appeared that Nibiru ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.P. O'Sullivan stated that a gap appeared down the inner, but it closed from his outside causing him to tighten in on Mr. McKenna. L.A. McKenna stated that he went for a gap that opened and as the rail came out it closed. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the incident was accidental and that no further action was warranted.

The Stewards enquired from J.B. Foley rider of Princely Conn, who fell on the flat in this race after the second last. The rider reported that his mount clipped a heel and fell independently. Having considered the evidence and viewed a recording of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

210C Guinness Galway Tribes H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed D.G. Hogan, rider of Bua Boy, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.G. Hogan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they suspended him for 1 raceday. Chairman of the Stewards Mr. M.C. Hickey absented himself from this enquiry and Mr. Peter. M. Allen, Acting Steward, acted as Chairman.

210D Guinness H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed S. Fitzgerald, rider of Western Victory, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S. Fitzgerald was in breach of both regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and 10.3(i)(time to respond) and having considered his record they suspended him for 3 racedays.

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Tronador trained by Mrs Denise Foster, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

210E Guinness Beginners S'chase

P.J. Cawley, rider of Four Courts trained by Brian Francis Cawley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was flat out all the way.

210G Guinness Galway Blazers H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Uisce Beatha trained by Padraig Roche was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.

The Stewards interviewed H. Morgan, rider of Popong, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his mount was finishing strong and responding to his efforts, but accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that H. Morgan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record and pursuant to Regulation 10.6(a), they suspended him for 6 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed J.G. Gilligan, rider of Born By The Sea, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.G. Gilligan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they suspended him for 2 racedays.
