O.J. Orr, rider of Cisco Disco trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room on the bend before the run into the dip.

The Stewards reviewed an incident before the road crossing about one furlong from the start involving Zumoradda, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third and Dagoda, ridden by R.C. Colgan, unplaced, where it appeared that both horses were momentarily halted in running. Having reviewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no action was warranted.

At the request of the Stewards, C.T. Keane, rider of Zumoradda, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was checked soon after the start but everything happened so quick around him that he had no opinion on what caused the incident.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Dagoda, trained by Ms. Sheila Lavery, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got buffeted in tight riding soon after the start and he felt that the filly gave one false step at that time.

The Stewards requested a report from Mrs John Harrington, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Maud Gonne Spirit, placed first, as compared with its recent runs at Roscommon over ten furlongs on the 31st May and Killarney over eight furlongs on the 13th July. Niall Amond, Authorised representative for Mrs John Harrington reported that the ease in the ground, the drop back in trip and the riding tactics used by being held up in a fast run race appeared to have brought about the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards requested a report from D. K. Weld, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Coltor, placed first, as compared with its recent run under the Rules of Racing at the Curragh on the 23rd May when finishing fourteenth of sixteen runners beaten one hundred and fourteen lengths by the winner Faveros whom he beat today. D.K. Weld reported that he was disappointed with the run at the Curragh where the race was the last on an eight race program run on very testing underfoot conditions described as heavy ground. In his opinion the better ground today and the application of a tongue strap brought about the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight on the first circuit involving Dutch Schultz (GB), ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, placed fifth, Elusive Rain, ridden by Mr P. Byrnes, unplaced, Truce (USA), ridden by Mr T. Hamilton, unplaced and Duffle Coat, ridden by Ms. L. O'Neill, placed sixth, where it appeared that Dutch Schultz (GB) was tight for room and dislodged the running rail when colliding with it. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, Mr D. O'Connor stated that the incident was caused by general bunching having met a bend soon after leaving the stalls. Mr T. Hamilton stated that he was riding two off the rails when he was squeezed for room from his outside. Mr P. Byrnes stated that he felt pressure from his outside and could not hold his position. In her evidence Ms L. O'Neill stated that she made no contribution to any incident that happened on her inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was caused by general bunching, did not apportion blame and took no further action.
