The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

L.J.Archdeacon, trainer of Carlas Big Jim (Off feed) - €200

020B Jump Into January H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Better Times Ahead, trained by Robert Tyner, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

E. Walsh, rider of Razzle Dazzle Love, trained by Thomas Gibney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped poor throughout and pulled up.

C. Brassil, rider of Serenity Grove, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel and pulled up.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Serenity Grove, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nostrils post race.

020C Follow Fairyhouse On Social Hcap S'chase

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Turbojet (GB), trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Turbojet (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, P.J. O'Hanlon stated that his mount was running in snatches and was hanging before the turn into the straight but he felt at times that he might pick up a bit. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that P.J. O'Hanlon was in breach of R10(3)(b) by using his whip unnecessarily when his chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended P.J. O'Hanlon for two racedays.

020E Rich History & Well Chosen M'dn H'dle

K.E Buckley, rider of Star Official, trained by R.Donohoe, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung a bit left.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, J.S. McGarvey, rider of Park Of Kings, trained by Paul Nolan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was outpaced during this race and needs a further trip.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, N.T. Prendergast, rider of Slate Lane, trained by Paul Hennessy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount made a bad mistake at the fifth last hurdle and took a good blow. He added that he allowed his mount to regain his momentum but only ran on past tired horses.

020G Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards fined Gordon Elliott, trainer, €65 for fitting a visor to Run For Pat which had not been declared and ordered it’s change to blinkers as declared under Rule 194 (i).

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Royal Rhythm, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr J.R. Banahan, that C.D Smithers, rider of Millen To One, K. Callaghan, rider of Mercury Lane, C. McGivern, rider of Run For Pat, M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Beating The Odds, S. O'Callaghan, rider of Hardwired, C.M. Quirke, rider of Waittillitellyou, L.A. McKenna, rider of Native Gold, P. Byrnes, rider of Chosen Diamond and C. Owens, rider of Royal Rhythm had failed to obey his instructions and caused a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter and riders concerned. Mr J.R. Banahan stated that he had informed the riders to stand and that they were not to come forward until the flag was dropped. In their evidence, all riders accepted Mr Banahans report that they had failed to obey his instructions at the start. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that all riders were in breach of Rule 208 (v)(b) by failing to comply with the Starters instructions. Having taken their previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended all riders, C.D. Smithers, K. Callaghan, C. McGivern, M.J.M. O'Sullivan, S. O'Callaghan, C.M. Quirke, L.A. McKenna, P. Byrnes, and C. Owens for one raceday.
