L.F. Roche, rider of Smiling Emily trained by G.A. Kingston, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't handle today's going.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of Bionic Tonic (GB) trained by Denis W. Cullen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got squeezed up in the straight and as a result he clipped heels.

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Amazing One (GB), ridden by T.P. Madden, Stamp Of Authority, ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, and Bionic Tonic (GB), ridden by M.A. Gallagher, where it appeared Bionic Tonic (GB) ran short of room and stumbled. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.G. O'Dwyer gave his evidence in the presence of A. Keatley. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that the incident was caused by accidental interference and took no further action.

The Stewards requested a report from Karl Thornton, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Nakakande, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this filly has a history of foot promlems. She was tried with stuck-on shoes at Sligo and ran well. She was tried with half and half shoes last time and ran poorly. Today they reverted to the glued-on shoes which may have contributed to a return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of Russian Vine trained by Richard Brabazon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung in behind the leaders in the straight.

181E Discover Boyne Valley H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from Andrew Slattery, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Mid Winster (GB), placed first, as compared with its most recent run. The trainer's representative, Brian Slattery, reported that this filly had shown good form at two having won a Curragh maiden and been fourth in a Listed race. Regarding her most recent run, he could offer no explanation for the performance other than that this filly had taken time to come to herself in the Spring but had returned to form today. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

181G Summer Evening Racing 17th July H'cap

S. Foley, rider of Maunganui trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned right for the last furlong and a half.
