Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that, while there appeared to be slight accidental interference, Sweeps Hill (NZ) did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference and so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

T.J. Doyle, rider of Prosperity Square, trained by Mr. Conor O’Dwyer, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount raced in mid division, failed to pick up as expected after the fourth last fence, but stayed on past beaten horses at the finish

Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
In his evidence E.J. O’Connell stated that his instructions were to drop his mount out, get the horse to switch off and try to get him home as best he could. He stated his mount was very keen early and jumped the first fence very big. He tried to get the animal to switch off after this fence, but the horse was still buzzy, probably as it was his first run this year. He asked him to quicken after jumping the third last, but he gave a blow soon after. He stated that he got the horse home as best he could, and said with different, more forceful tactics the animal may not have gotten home. He felt he had obtained his best possible finishing position.
In his evidence Mr. Lambe stated that this was the horse’s first run for him, having been purchased from England, and he outlined a number of problems the horse has had since he came to his yard. He said he was satisfied with the ride, having been aware of how this horse has stopped in the past when asked to go and win his race. He stated that the horse had run with a tongue strap in the past, but on this occasion and on this good ground, he said he would leave it off to see if it was really needed. His rider confirmed that the horse did not make a noise today.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, stating that Predateur (FR) was found to be post race normal.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.

Having considered the evidence, the Stewards reminded Mr. Meany of his responsibilities in this regard for the future.

The Stewards interviewed Mr. P.J. Rothwell, trainer of Divine Rhapsody, concerning the late withdrawal of his charge due to ground conditions
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who said he declared his charge on good to firm ground, but which was to be watered to achieve good ground. He said he arrived at the track walked it, and he felt was patchy, but generally as described, good, good to firm in places. He decided to wait until the first hurdle race, (the third race) to get this fact confirmed by the riders who rode in it.
Having considered the circumstances, the Stewards accepted the explanation given for the withdrawal (ground). However, the Stewards felt the withdrawal could have been made before the time fixed for withdrawal and therefore fined Mr. Rothwell €200.

The Stewards interviewed Mr. Eamonn O’Connell, trainer of Spirit Of Lily, regarding the poor performance of his charge, which pulled up in this race.
Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned.
Following the running of this race Spirit Of Lily was examined by the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, at the request of the Stewards, and was found to be post race normal.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards suspended Spirit Of Lily for 60 days under Rule 212 (b).

K.H. Clarke, rider of Oh So Gogo, trained by Miss Maura McGuinness, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung throughout.

101F motivatechallenge.com Handicap Hurdle & The Stewards interviewed Mr. Colin Bowe, trainer of the winner Representing, concerning the apparent improvement in form of his horse, particularly in comparison with the animal’s last run at Wexford on 15th April where she pulled up.
Mr. Bowe reported that his mare was found to have a cracked heel after the race and was lame the following day. He also stated that his rider reported to him after the race that the mare hung during the race and had to be pulled up.
Having considered the evidence, and taking into account the circumstances, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr. Bowe was in breach of Rule 213 in that he failed to report anything which may have affected the running of his horse, and they therefore fined him €3000.

101G Motivate Challenge In Association With Naas Triathlon Club I.N.H. Flat Race & The Stewards fined Mr. Moses McCabe, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Barney Dunne in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provision of Rule 91. Mr. W.J. Austin, trainer of Sea Of Erris, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge scoped badly post race.

101B(ii) Glenview And Rathbarry Studs Handicap Hurdle (Division Two) & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. Eoin Doyle, trainer of the winner Vinnes Friend, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his horse compared with her previous run at Wexford on the 15th April where she finished 14th of 15 finishers and was beaten about 62 lengths by the winner Salespin.
Mr. Doyle reported that the horse was having her first run for him at Wexford after he acquired her from Mr. Gordon Elliot. He stated that he was disappointed with the run, but noted that his other runner on the same day also performed poorly and he felt that generally his yard was under a cloud. He was also advised by M.P. Butler, the rider at Wexford, to race the mare on a left handed track. He felt that running her on this left handed course was a contributing factor, but he thought that the form of all his horses had improved of late and his runners had performed well in the last two weeks.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered.|

The Stewards enquired into possible interference between the final two hurdles involving the winner Vinnes Friend, ridden by S.W. Jackson, Lady Chatterbox, ridden by R.M. Power, placed second, and Our Nana Rose, ridden by A.P. Thornton, placed third.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that during the race she was unaware she had used her whip so frequently. Having watched a recording of the race, however, she accepted this fact and also felt that she should have put her whip down sooner than she did.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Miss McElligott had used her whip with excessive frequency and unnecessarily when she had obtained her best possible placing. Having taken her record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended her for two race days (2nd and 3rd June).

Mr. K.E. Power, rider of Nevada Knight, trained by Mr. James Joseph Mangan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung and jumped right and was therefore pulled up.

Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned.
In his evidence P. Carberry stated that his instructions were to drop his mount in, get him settled and finish as best as he could. He stated that he had ridden the horse before and had doubts about him getting the two mile, two furlong trip and so he rode the horse to get home. He said his mount jumped slow and careful, travelled well in behind, but did not find much off the bridle after jumping the last. He stated that had he chased after the leaders coming down the hill, the horse would not have got home, and so felt he had obtained his best possible finishing position. He felt this horse needs fast ground and a sharp two miles would be as far as he would get.
In his evidence Mr. Elliott confirmed the instructions and expressed satisfaction with the ride. He outlined that this was the first hurdle race the horse was entered in this year and he decided to let him take his chance today because of the difficulties getting into such races due to the balloting process. He stated that this horse has some ability having won on the flat at one stage and felt his charge may be capable of winning a race on quick ground, over two miles, maybe on a sharp track in England or around Wexford or Ballinrobe.
The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer, who stated that Thistimesforgood was found to be post race normal.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.

Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned and from his assistant Mr. Stephen McCarthy.
In his evidence Mr. Coleman stated that he declared his horse on good to firm ground, but felt the ground had gone firm in places due to the drying day. His nominated rider D.N. Russell advised him not to run his charge because of the quickening ground immediately after riding the winner of the fourth race and at this stage they withdrew the horse.
Mr. Brendan Sheridan, Turf Club Clerk of the Course confirmed the ground as being good to firm with a nice covering of grass, but agreed that some patches had gone firm.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation given for the withdrawal (ground). However, they cautioned Mr. Coleman regarding the lateness of the withdrawal.

103F Frank Fitzsimmons Maiden Hunters Steeplechase & The Stewards fined Mr. R.P. McNamara, rider, (acting under terms of Rule 196 (v)), €200 for failing to present himself at scales within the time fixed for his mount Macra Na Feirme in this race.

The Stewards fined the following trainer €200 in respect of his non-runner: Mr. Joseph G. Murphy for Isis Song (declared in error).

105A Stay At The Brandon Hotel Tralee European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden & The Stewards enquired into two incidents in this race. The first incident occurred approaching the four furlong pole involving Remember Alexander (GB), ridden by J.P. Murtagh, placed fourth, Crimson Sunrise, ridden by P.J. Smullen, and Up, ridden by J.P. O’Brien, both unplaced.

105E Abu Dhabi Irish 2,000 Guineas & The Stewards requested a report from Mr. A.P. O’Brien, trainer of the winner Roderic O’Connor, regarding the apparent improvement in form of his charge compared with the horses previous run at Newmarket where he finished 11th of 13 runners and was beaten approximately 38 lengths behind the winner Frankel.
Mr. O’Brien reported that they were very happy with the horse going to Newmarket. The only reason that he could attribute the performance of the horse at Newmarket is that his charge was having his first run of the year and he got stage fright in a very fast run race.
He reported that since Newmarket the horse has continued in a normal training routine and is ridden out all the time by J.P. O’Brien.

Martin, trainer of the winner Somatic, regarding  the apparent improvement in form of his horse compared with his previous run here on the 2nd May when the animal was pulled up in the race won by Galant Ferns.
Mr. Martin reported that both he and his rider R. Walsh were very disappointed with the horse’s last run which they were unable to explain. He felt that the faster underfoot conditions today and the application of a tongue strap must have contributed to a return to his prior better form.
Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.

Mr. P.J. Rothwell, trainer of Glenbane Gent, reported to a Turf Club Official that his charge was pulled up lame.

107E Supermacs Drive Thru Handicap Steeplechase & The Stewards interviewed R.C. Colgan, rider of Antipode (GER) placed third, concerning his use of the whip on the final circuit.
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that this is a slow and honest type of horse who just kept galloping and needs a longer trip. He admitted that he had used the whip a lot but felt that he was not using any strength in his hits and was merely keeping his mount up to his job.
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that R.C. Colgan had used his whip with excessive frequency and they therefore suspended him for two race days (6th and 8th June).

Rothwell, trainer of Beneficial Spirit, in relation to this horse’s loss of ground at the start and the fact that the horse was pulled up very early in this race.
Evidence was heard from Mr. Cullen and from the rider and trainer concerned.
In his evidence Mr. Cullen stated that he had informed all runners to take one more turn, which they all complied with and then on the next circle he called them forward.
In his evidence S.W. Jackson stated that he did not hear the starter and missed the break when called, he said his mount lost ground, missed the first and second fences and then got further behind. He added that he took the decision to pull up his mount as the horse had become detached from the field.
In his evidence Mr. Rothwell commented that his charge was not travelling from flagfall despite being pushed along and was satisfied that the rider made a quick decision to pull up. He later reported that his charge was sore post race.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards deemed that a fair start had been affected and also accepted the explanations offered.
