James J. Doyle, rider of Sir Ottoman (FR) trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.
C.D. Maxwell, rider of French (GB) trained by Anthony Mulholland, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right up the straight.
Siobhan Rutledge, rider of The Feathered Nest trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her mount missed the break.
The Stewards interviewed Siobhan Rutledge, rider of The Feathered Nest, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b) in that she had used her whip unnecessarily, after her chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone. Having taken her previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Siobhan Rutledge for two racedays and ordered that she attend R.A.C.E for one day's tuition on the correct use of the whip.
317B Christmas Party Nights Dundalk Nurs. HcpS. Foley, rider of Overtake (GB) trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was outpaced early on.
C.D. Hayes, rider of Almost A Dream trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was forced to check at the first bend.
317D DKIT Students Union Race Day H'capT. Hogan, trainer of Honor Oak, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge struck her head off the stalls when they opened.
317E(i) Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk H'cap (Division One)The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Masalai, trained by Edward Lynam, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Stewards interviewed S.M. Mooney, rider of Confident Kid (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he had used his whip excessively, but stated that he had used his whip on a few occasions to correct his mount from hanging to the right which in his opinion had cost him two to three lengths. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted that three strikes were used for corrective purposes and the rider was therefore not in breach of Regulation 10. They were, however, of the opinion that S.M. Mooney was in breach of Rule 213 in that he failed to report at the first instance, something which may have affected the performance of his mount and having considered his record in this regard, they cautioned him on this occasion. .
The Stewards interviewed K.J. Leonard, rider of Nailed On Nina, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended K.J. Leonard for 3 racedays.
317E(ii) Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk H'cap (Division Two)C.D. Hayes, rider of Lily Lily Rose trained by Aidan Anthony Howard, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned right when under pressure.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Lady In Lavender, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race and to have coughed a few times during examination, possibly as a result of kick back.
317F(i) Irishinjuredjockeys.com H'cap (Division One)The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ragtime Red, trained by Anthony McCann, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
317F(ii) Irishinjuredjockeys.com H'cap (Division Two)R.P. Whelan, rider of Mouneera trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action up the straight.
James J. Doyle, rider of Katie Beag trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount clipped a heel on the first bend.
The Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the first bend involving Mountain Fox, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, Yarraman, ridden by C.P. Hoban, Katie Beag, ridden by James J. Doyle, and Knuckles McGinty (GB), ridden by Vanessa Maye, where it appeared Katie Beag clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the field had bunched at the wrong time which had caused the incident and therefore took no further action. Chairman of the Stewards Mr P.N. Reynolds absented himself from this enquiry and Mr S. Collins acted as Chairman.
