The Raceday Stewards requested a report from J.F. Levins trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Shabaaby (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. J. F. Levins reported that his charge had disappointed on its previous run when misbehaving in the stalls which was reported on the night. He further added that a drop back in trip and behaving better in the stalls on this occasion had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Higher Kingdom (GB), ridden by Siobhan Rutledge, and trained by John C. McConnell. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Siobhan Rutledge, stated that her instructions were to drop her mount out, get it settled as it can be a difficult ride and to do the best she could. She said her mount missed the break which she had reported at scales and ran keen in the early stages. She concluded by stating that her mount is a very difficult ride and stayed on in the closing stages when the pace in front of her collapsed. John C. McConnell, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He stated that his charge was running over an extended trip for the first time and further stated that his charge has a very high head carriage and is a very difficult ride. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Higher Kingdom (GB) was clinically abnormal post race.
