021A Winter Series Awards At Dundalk H'cap

B.M. Coen, rider of Billyfairplay trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that a stirrup leather broke when pulling up after passing the finish.

The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that G.M. Ryan, rider of Angel In The Sky, had weighed in at 1.3lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was dehydrated having ridden at a lighter weight earlier and had taken some fluid since weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.M. Ryan was in breach of Rule 231 (iii) and having taken his previous record into consideration, cautioned him on this occasion.

021E Valentine's Weekend Special M'dn

The Stewards fined John James Feane, trainer, €130 for failing to notify the HRI that his charge Hisnameis Mrdevitt had been gelded, this being a breach of Rule 148 (vi)

The Stewards enquired into possible interference over one furlong from the finish involving Kokura (GB), ridden by S.B. Kelly, placed first, Mr Mooj, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed second and Yulong Transcend, ridden by T.P. Madden, unplaced, where it appeared that Yulong Transcend may have run short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that no interference had taken place and took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong of this race involving Kokura (GB), ridden by S.B. Kelly, placed first and Mr Mooj, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed second, where it appeared that Mr Mooj was tight for room when racing close to the rails and on the inside of Kokura (GB). Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that interference had taken place and Kokura had improved his placing over Mr Mooj in so doing. The Stewards reversed the placings with the result now to read; First - Mr Mooj, Second; Kokura (GB). Furthermore, the Stewards were of the opinion that the interference was caused by S.B. Kelly riding carelessly, this being a breach of Rule 214. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended S.B. Kelly for 4 racedays.

S.B. Kelly, rider of Kokura (GB) trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left during this race.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Mr Mooj, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was constantly impeded inside the final furlong of this race.

021G1 Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium H'cap

The Stewards interviewed N.M. Crosse, rider of French (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latterstages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that N.M. Crosse was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended N.M. Crosse for 1 raceday.

T.E. Whelan, rider of Midnitemudcrabs trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Zathura trained by G.T.Lynch, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right during this race.

021G2 Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident about one and a half furlongs from the finish involving Dance Alone (GB), ridden by T.P. Madden, placed third, La Novia, ridden by A.C. Persse, unplaced and Red All Star, ridden by K.J. Leonard, unplaced, where it appeared that Dance Alone (GB) may have caused interference when making an outward manoeuvre to deliver his challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no action other than to remind T.P. Madden to ride with more awareness when making manoeuvres to challenge.
