023A Book At DundalkStadium.com Claiming Race

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Hezahunk, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was short of room and took a check a furlong and a half out.

K.J. Leonard, rider of Might And Mercy (GB), trained by Patrick J. McKenna, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran free throughout.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Sunset Nova, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was carried across after a furlong and a half.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Monzoon (GB), ridden by J. Kearney, unplaced, Hezahunk, ridden by C.J. MacRedmond, unplaced, and Might And Mercy (GB), ridden by K.J. Leonard, unplaced, where it appeared C.J. MacRedmond had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.J. MacRedmond stated that he was going for a gap when it got tight for room and had to take a check. K.J Leonard stated that his charge was going backwards at the time of the incident. J. Kearney stated that he felt pressure from his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action .

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C. Martins, rider of The Cola Brasil (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of R.10.3(g) and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found C. Martins was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they suspended him for five racedays.

J. Kearney, rider of Still She Blooms (GB), trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung slightly left up the staright.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Burn The Bridges, trained by Jack W. Davison, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung slightly left and shortened his stride a little.

G.M. Ryan, rider of Turn Up The Beat (GB), trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he thought his mount took a bad step but finished sound.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, D.P. McDonogh, rider of Beyond Your Dreams, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was never travelling and had to check off the horse on his inside in the home straight.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the home straight involving Turn Up The Beat (GB), ridden by G.M. Ryan, unplaced, and Beyond Your Dreams, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, unplaced, where it appeared interference may have occured. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

023D View Restaurant At Dundalk (F) M'dn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Oriental Dancer (GB), trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of As Fast As Wind, trained by Eoin Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed R. Whearty, in relation to his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. In his evidence R. Whearty stated that one of the strikes did not connect and that his charge was leaning left. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted his explanation and took no further action .

L.F. Roche, rider of Charlisse, trained by Denis W. Cullen, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced keen throughout.

J. Coen, rider of Alhaajeb, trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed K.J. Leonard, rider of Snag It, concerning his use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. K.J. Leonard accepted he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found K.J. Leonard was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and in considering his record in this regard they suspended him for three racedays.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the first bend involving Snag It, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed second, Anjah, ridden by J.M Sheridan,unplaced,Gurkha Girl, ridden by S.B. Kelly, unplaced, Don't Look Now, ridden by J. Kearney, placed third, Cold Cold Heart, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, unplaced, and Lucky Question (GB), ridden by R.C. Colgan where it appeared Gurkha Girl was tight for room and clipped a heal. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K.J. Leonard stated that he felt he had enough room. J.M Sheridan stated that he felt a small bit of pressure from his right. S.B Kelly stated that he had to take a check and his horse stumbled. J. Kearney stated that the incident happened in front of him. D.W. O'Connor stated that he had to take back a small bit. R.C. Colgan stated that he received pressure from his right. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found K.J. Leonard was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Gurkha Girl trained by Michael Patrick Fenton was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.

S.B. Kelly, rider of Gurkha Girl, trained by Michael Patrick Fenton, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount clipped a heal on the first bend.
