The Stewards enquired into possible interference about 200 yards from the winning post involving Primo Uomo, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed second, All The King's Men, ridden by D. O'Brien, placed fourth and Blue Uluru, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They were, however, of the opinion that C.T. Keane was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record they suspended him for 1 raceday.
C.T. Keane, rider of Blue Uluru trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount rolled around under pressure.
D. O'Brien, rider of All The King's Men trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was squeezed up in the straight.
271C Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction M'dnAt the request of the Stewards, N.G. McCullagh, rider of Zero Maybe Hero, trained by Aidan F. Fogarty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mounts action was very poor throughout the race.
At the request of the Stewards, James J. Doyle, rider of Miss Sassyboots, trained by Shane Nolan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got tight for room on the first bend. .
271D ASM Accountants Apprentice H'capP.A. Harnett, rider of Boing (GB), trained by Miss Clare Louise Cannon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran green on the first bend.
271E Matthews.ie Diamond StakesThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mootasadir (GB), trained by Hugo Palmer (in GB), at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.
The Stewards enquired into two incidents of possible interference in the closing stages of this race. The first involving Massif Central, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed forth (dead heat), Blenheim Palace, ridden by D. O'Brien, placed first, Numerian, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed second and Fresnel (GB), ridden by G.P. Halpin, placed fourth (dead heat), where it appeared Fresnel ran short of room and the second incident involving Massif Central and Fresnel, where it appeared both horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the placings and took no further action.
271F Dundalk Stadium Light Up Your Night HcapThe Stewards received a report from Mr. H. T. Hynes, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that B.M. Coen , rider of Spruce Meadows, weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that B. M. Coen was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and they therefore suspended him for two racedays.
271G1 Tapas & Cocktails @ Dundalk Stadium HcapR.P. Whelan, rider of Swift Justice (GB) trained by Damian Joseph English, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped very quickly.
271G2 Tapas & Cocktails @ Dundalk Stadium HcapAt the request of the Stewards, R.C. Colgan, rider of Cagey (FR), trained by Nigel Thomas Slevin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount didn't corner well at the first bend.
At the request of the Stewards, J.M. Sheridan, rider of Solar Heat, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away and met with interference on the first bend.
At the request of the Stewards, C.G. O'Dwyer, rider of Doi Suthep, trained by Anthony Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that J.M. Sheridan had to check off heels in front of him on the bend after the stands .
The Stewards received a report from the I.H.R.B. Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr. Lynn. Hillyer, that Patrick Martin, trainer of Crystal Pool(Ire) and Liam Eile(Ire) had left both animals unattended for some time at the racecourse stable yard until arriving at approxmately 18.00 hrs. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that he had runners at Downpatrick today and because of the only practical transport arrangement available to him, he dropped both Crystal Pool(Ire)and Liam Eile(Ire) at Dundalk at around 13.30. He stated that both animals had water and feed and were both rugged up, this was confirmed by Dr. Hillyer. He said that he had asked both another trainer and a head travelling man from another yard who had commitments at Dundalk tonight to keep an eye on both animals until his return and both had agreed to do so. Having considered the evidence and in particular Rule 148, Regulation 9 and Notice 18, the Stewards referred the matter to the C.E.O. of the I.H.R.B. for further investigation.
The Stewards fined Patrick Martin, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Crystal Pool, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Crystal Pool in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
