The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

A.P.O'Brien, trainer of Newfoundland (Ground conditions) - €200
A.P.O'Brien, trainer of Newfoundland (Late withdrawal) - €200

323A Dundalk Stadium Claiming Race

The Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Timourid, placed first, as compared with its recent run here at Dundalk on the 15th October when finishing twelfth of fourteen runners. Philip Heenan, Authorised representative for Denis Gerard Hogan reported that their charge was suited by the slow early pace in this race which allowed the animal to travel better and in his opinion this brought about the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

Shane Lyons, Authorised representative for G.M.Lyons, trainer of Leadership Race, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge burst a blood vessel.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Leadership Race, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the right nostril post race.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Just Let Go, trained by A. Oliver, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

C.T. Keane, rider of Just Let Go trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was eased up when he felt that the gelding had lost his action in the straight.

S. Foley, rider of Brosna Empress trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Chazzesmee, trained by J.A.Stack, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race.

M.A. Enright, rider of Chazzesmee trained by J.A.Stack, reported to the Clerk of Scales that he pulled up his mount when he felt that he had gone badly lame behind.

323C Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction M'dn

R.P. Cleary, rider of Tamazu trained by F.Birrane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped left out of the starting stalls.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Enjoymyslipstream trained by A. Oliver, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount injured a foreleg at the winning post.

323D Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

S. Foley, rider of Domestic Goddess trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped right for the first one hundred yards.

S. Foley, rider of Caesar's Comet trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got very upset in the starting stalls.

The Stewards requested a report from Eoin Christopher McCarthy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Drombeg Duke, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Tipperary on the 4th October when finishing ninth of fourteen runners. The trainer reported that his charge got very worked up in the starting stalls the previous day and failed to perform thereafter. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Stewards reviewed the unseating of S. Foley from his mount Beleaguerment, on leaving the starting stalls. S. Foley reported to a Stewards Secretary post race that his mount went downward when the starting stalls opened and he was unseated. Having considered the report and reviewed a recording of the start, the Stewards were satisfied that the unseating was accidental and that no action was warranted.

323F1 Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Clew Bay, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Comedy La Vega (GB), trained by Noel Meade, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong involving No Trouble, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed second and Turf Range, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed first, where it appeared that both animals had drifted towards each other and contact was made. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence J.A. Heffernan stated that there was contact between the horses but he had received the interference which cost him a better placing. W.M. Lordan stated that he stopped his horse drifting right by changing his whip and in his opinion both horses got close but he felt that he was always holding the challenger. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.
