James J. Doyle, rider of Boughtinthedark trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with significant interference.
The Stewards enquired into an incident on the approach to the first bend, involving It's All A Joke, ridden by M.A. Enright, unplaced, Boughtinthedark, ridden by James J. Doyle, unplaced and Ascot Dreamer (GB), ridden by R. Aguiar, placed sixth, where it appeared that Boughtinthedark ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame and took no further action other than to advise both M.A. Enright and R Aguiar to ride with more care in future.
330B BetVictor Bet 5 Get 30 Claiming RaceThe Stewards requested a report from M. Halford, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Lady De Vesci, placed first, as compared with its recent form. M. Halford felt that the drop in class had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation given.
G.P. Halpin, rider of Mere Ironmonger (GB), trained by David Marnane, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was very slowly away from the stalls.
330C Lengthen The Odds With BetVictor H'capS. Foley, rider of Pepperoni Pete trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned left under pressure.
S.B. Kelly, rider of Parkers Hill trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran keen.
330D1 Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dnThe Stewards informed Miss Katy Brown, trainer, that Runcible would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
330D2 Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dnThe Stewards informed Charles O'Brien, trainer, that Figurehead would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Psyche (GB), ridden by S. Foley, placed first and Stinglikeabee, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed fourth, where it appeared that Psyche received a bump in the closing stages. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found R. C. Colgan in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record they suspended him for one raceday.
330E Connolly Kelly Accountants (Fillies) MdnAt the request of the Stewards, James J. Doyle, rider of Storm Approaching (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran on well in the closing stages but he had no room at that late stage in the race.
330F iCopy H'capS. Foley, rider of Calling Time trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room from the outside.
The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Calling Time, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, Phoenix Open (USA), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third and Lord Rapscallion, ridden by S.B. Kelly, placed first, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They were, however, of the opinion that S.B. Kelly was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record, they suspended him for 2 racedays.
330G Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay H'capJames J. Doyle, rider of Never Rains trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran short of room.
C.T. Keane, rider of Loaded trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount met with serious interference shortly after leaving the stalls.
The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Never Rains, ridden by James J. Doyle, placed fifth and Alfirak (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed second, where it appeared that Never Rains ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered that any interference caused was accidental and they therefore took no further action.
The Stewards wished to enquire into an incident early in this race involving Loaded, ridden by C.T. Keane, Alfirak (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, Descendant (GB), ridden by G.P. Brouder and A Step Too Far, ridden by W.J. Lee, where it appeared Loaded ran short of room and was forced to check. However, as W.J. Lee had already left the Racecourse, the Stewards referred the incident and the non availability of W.J. Lee to the Referrals Committee for consideration under Rule 214 and Rule 229(v). .
T.E. Whelan, rider of Usain Boat, trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount misbehaved in the stalls.
