055A Happy St Patrick's Weekend H'cap

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the home straight involving Daintree, ridden by J.A. Powell, placed fourth, and Peerless, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, unplaced, where it appeared that Peerless ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan, stated that his mount met with interference from his outside. J.A. Powell, stated that his mount was travelling very strong which carried him close to heels causing him to move towards the railing. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J.A. Powell was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record they suspended him for 2 racedays.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Peerless, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered turning in.

055C Easter Week Racing 11th & 14th Apr H'cap

R.P. Whelan, rider of Cometh The Man, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

D. McMonagle, rider of Miss Upbeat, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls and did not get a clear run in the straight.

055H Dundalk Winter Series H'cap

K. Bailey, rider of Admiral Nelson (GB), trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount was slowly away.

M.P. Sheehy, rider of Cool Vixen, trained by Stephen Gerard Carey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, regarding the failure of C. Horgan, rider of Rock Etoile, placed sixth to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his failure to weigh in was an oversight on his part and he apologised for his actions. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards using their powers under Rule 230, disqualified Rock Etoile from sixth place As a consequence, they amended the result to read as follows:

Second:Leabaland
Third: Royal Tribute
Fourth: Evening Verse
Fifth: My Little Tip
Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion C. Horgan was in breach of Rule 227 and having considered his record in this regard, they suspended him for 2 racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee.
