The Stewards received a report from W. Fleming, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr P.W. Mullins, rider of Above The City, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he believed the girth for his saddle had been changed after he weighed out. Evidence was then heard from Desmond McDonogh, trainer, who stated that he had changed girths after the weigh-out as the first girth was not sufficiently long for his charge. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards took no action against the rider concerned but found Mr. McDonogh in breach of Rule 198 (vi) and having taken his record into account cautioned him.
