Deputy Logistics Official Leinster/Northern Region
13 December 2022The IHRB is seeking to appoint a deputy logistics official for the Leinster/Northern areas. This is a key raceday role providing essential logistical support to IHRB teams and third party raceday service providers. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the IHRB security team and will report to the Head of Security and Investigations. The role will involve attendance at 60 racedays and requires a willingness to work weekends throughout Ireland with a degree of flexibility to meet deadlines and the demands of the fixture list.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Management of an official vehicle ensuring it is maintained in a clean and safe condition and serviced in accordance with the inspection schedule.
- Ensuring the vehicle is adequately stocked with equipment and supplies to support IHRB raceday operations.
- Liaising with other departments (including Medical, Stewarding, Veterinary, IT and others) to determine required equipment and supplies for racedays.
- Reporting without delay details of any unserviceable equipment and supplies.
- Transporting equipment and supplies to and from racecourses arriving three hours before the first race.
- Collecting veterinary samples from the veterinary team at the conclusion of each raceday for transportation to the IHRB office at the Curragh.
- Ensuring that all equipment and supplies are accounted for at the conclusion of each raceday.
- Re-charging radios, scanners, iPads and other equipment following each raceday.
- Reporting without delay any occasion where a duty cannot be performed.
- Any other duties assigned by the Head of Security and Investigations.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Have an acceptable knowledge of horseracing
- Hold a full driving license
- Be a team player with the ability to also work independently on their own initiative
- Display the highest standards of integrity, diplomacy and discretion.
