216A Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

L.T. McAteer, rider of Bo's Beech, trained by James M. Barrett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung severely right from three furlongs out.

216B Irish Stallion Farms EBF M'dn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Siyou In Deauville (FR), trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

216C Loder Irish EBF (Fillies) Race

The Stewards informed G.M.Lyons, trainer that One Last Look, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

216D Keeneland Phoenix Stakes

D. O'Brien, rider of Royal Lytham (FR) trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his saddle slipped leaving the stalls.

216E Qatar Racing Club Phoenix Sprint Stakes

S. Foley, rider of Servalan trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost its action at about half way.

216F TRM Equine Nutrition H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately two furlongs from the finish involving Powersville, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, unplaced, Miacomet, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed second, Paved Paradise, ridden by M.A. Gallagher, unplaced and Sweetest Taboo, ridden by N.M. Crosse, unplaced, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards deemed the incident to be accidental and therefore took no further action.

K.J. Manning, rider of Polly Douglas trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran into trouble about one and a half furlongs from the finish.

216G Curragh Supporting Kildare GAA H'cap

The Stewards received a report from Mr. H.T. Hynes, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that G.P. Halpin, rider of Massa Lubrens, had weighed in at 1.3 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that G.P. Halpin was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered his record they suspended him for 3 racedays.

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Solar Wave, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ger Flynn, authorised representative for the trainer reported that his charge broke well today which allowed her to hold her position and further added that she appeared to appreciate the ground conditions. Having considered the report, the Stewards accepted the explanation offered.
