The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Fourhometwo (GB), ridden by B.M. Coen, placed third, Amazed By Grace (GB), ridden by D.E. Sheehy, placed first and True Artist, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed second, where it appeared that True Artist initially drifted left and Amazed By Grace subsequently drifted left. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B.M. Coen stated that his mount was tiring when True Artist drifted slightly onto his racing line, but felt it was of little consequence. N.G. McCullagh stated that his mount drifted towards the stands momentarily and straightening up before Fourhometwo carried him close to the line. D.E. Sheehy stated that his mount drifted towards the stands in the closing stages, but felt that he had not improved his finishing position as a result of this drift. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They were, however, of the opinion that D.E. Sheehy was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record they suspended him for one raceday.

The Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Cyrus Dallin (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form.
