The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Kashika, ridden by M.A. Enright, and trained by Denis Gerard Hogan. Evidence was heard from the trainer's Authorised representative and rider concerned. Ms Meghan Donovan, Authorised representative, stated that she was familiar with the riding instructions which were to ride the filly in mid division and to do the best that he could from thereon. M.A. Enright, rider, stated that the instructions were as relayed and described his riding. He said that his mount travelled comfortably until missing the fourth last hurdle. He added that from that point his mount was outpaced and was squeezed along around the bottom bend before running into traffic problems on entering the straight at which point the front runners had gone away from him. He also said that his mount jumped left at the third last hurdle and without the whip being applied when out of contention, he felt that the filly obtained her best possible placing. In his opinion the filly had limited ability and might have the potential to win a little race. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Kashika was post race normal but noted a superficial wound on both the left fore fetlock and the left hind fetlock.
