The Stewards received a request from G.M.Lyons, trainer of Zola Sakura, to substitute the nominated rider G.F. Carroll, with C.T. Keane, due to his intended mount Apres Tol (GB), trained by D.K. Weld being a non runner. Shane Lyons, Authorised Representative for the trainer, stated that as C.T. Keane is the stable jockey and had become available, the owners of Zola Sakura wished to have him ride their charge. He confirmed that the declared rider was fully aware of the situation and supported the request. When questioned why Mr. Keane was originally declared to ride Zola Sakura, he stated that the Mr. Keane rode out for Mr. Weld once a week and had a gentleman's agreement in place with him with the concent of G.M. Lyons, whereby from time to time, he would be released to ride for Mr. Weld if better opportunities were presented. Having considered the matter and the reasons put forward for consideration, the Stewards allowed the request on this occasion using their powers under Regulation 3. Furthermore, the Stewards stressed that today's decision was not to be seen as a precedent for any similar requests should they arise in future.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final 100 yards involving Aprils Joy, ridden by C.D. Maxwell, placed third, Must Be Dreaming, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed second and Odd Venture, ridden by Sorcha Woods, placed first, where it appeared that Odd Venture drifted to the left and may have caused interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Heffernan stated that a few strides before the line Odd Venture tired and drifted into his path but the manoeuvre had no affect on his placing. C.D. Maxwell stated that Must Be Dreaming came across his mount just before the line. Sorcha Woods stated that as her mount tired close to the line it began to drift. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that any interference caused did not warrant any action and made no alteration to the Judges placings. Sorcha Woods gave her evidence in the presence of Marshall Watson.

Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that G.P. Halpin was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency.
