The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr. J.P. O'Rourke rode Mister Suntan (reserve), trained by C.A. Murphy (Race 7)

082B TOTE Win Never Beaten Beginners S'chase

The Stewards enquired into the riding of Butte Montana, ridden by R.J. Condon who fell at the last in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that the horse had made a mistake at the previous fence but recovered and he felt he had enough forward momentum to attempt jumping the last. He added that his mount jumped the fence fine but stumbled on landing and fell. Having viewed the video footage and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to remind R.J. Condon to be more mindfull in future of his riding in this regard.

082C Adare Manor Opportunity H'cap S'chase

The Stewards received a report from the I.H.R.B. Starter, Mr. P.F. Graffin, regarding the false start in this race. Mr. Graffin stated that he had briefed the riders prior to the race, adding that he warned the riders to slow down on the approach to the start and despite this, some riders anticipated the jump resulting in a false start. P.K. Donovan, rider of Sean Says, stated that his mount anticipated the start and he accepted he was in breach of Rule 208. J.C. Canavan, rider of Carnet De Stage, accepted he had jumped off and went forward prior to being instructed to by the Starter. M.P. O'Connor, rider of Aherlow, accepted he had jumped off too early adding that his mount was wound up and went forward with the other horses. A. McCurtin, rider of Emancipator, accepted that he had put his mount into a canter prior to being instructed to by the Starter. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that all 4 riders were in breach of Rule 208. Having considered their records, the Stewards suspended J.C. Canavan, M.P. O'Connor and P.K. Donovan for 1 raceday each. Having considered A. McCurtin's record, the Stewards suspended him for 2 racedays.

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Spare Brakes trained by V.C. Ward, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly after the third last fence.

082D Happy Easter Opportunity M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident rounding the final bend involving First Earl, ridden by Shane Fenelon and Housemartin, ridden by P.K. Donovan, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Shane Fenelon stated that his mount received contact from his outside which caused him to check. P.K. Donovan stated that his mount ran green and leaned towards the railing causing interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that P.K. Donovan was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion. Ms. Kate Horgan (Chairman) absented herself from this enquiry and was replaced by Mr. Patrick Coveney.

G.B. Noonan, rider of Pana To Milan, trained by Michael Winters, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped a hurdle on the way to the Start despite his best efforts. The Stewards subsequently reviewed the incident and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

082E BBQ Evening June 10th (Mares) M'dn H'dle

The Stewards reviewed an incident crossing the roadway into the home straight involving Latest Model, ridden by Shane Fenelon and Pepperocco, ridden by A. McCurtin, where it appeared that Latest Model stumbled and made contact with Pepperocco. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

082F Happy Easter To All Our Patrons Hcap Hdl

The Stewards enquired into an incident passing the stands involving Good Man Turk, ridden by L.A. McKenna and Le Fou's Keep, ridden by C. Brassil, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L.A. McKenna stated that he suffered interference when the horse on his outside crossed him causing him to check. C. Brassil stated that his mount had jumped left at the previous hurdle and that he felt he was clear on returning back towards the railing. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C. Brassil was in breach of Rule 214 (careless riding) and having considered his record they cautioned him on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed M.P. Fogarty, rider of Iridescent, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of Regulation 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that M.P. Fogarty was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency) and R10.3(i)(time to respond) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 4 racedays.

082G Next Meeting May 12 (P-Am) INH Flat Race

J.F. O'Shea, trainer of Bonjour Lady, reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board that his charge was found to be in season post race.
