C.D. Hayes Appeal
07 June 2006 C.D. Hayes Appeal - Cork, 17th April 2006Evidence was heard from Mr. A.L. McKeever, Clerk of the Scales, Dr. W.L. Halley, Senior Turf Club Medical Officer, Prof. Michael Gilchrist, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University College Dublin and Mr. Denis Egan, Chief Executive of the Turf Club.
Having considered the evidence the Appeals Body found that C.D. Hayes had breached the Instruction on Stirrup Irons on Page 260 of the Rule Book and dismissed the appeal and they also confirmed the original penalty of seven race days. They ordered that each party involved in the appeal pay its own costs.
The case was presented by Mr. Philippe Lafarge, Stewards Secretary. C.D. Hayes was represented by Mr. Andrew Coonan of Coonan Cawley Solicitors, Naas, Co. Kildare.
