At the request of the Stewards, J.B. Foley, rider of Elliedee, trained by David Kenneth Budds, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran free early on in this race and stopped after the second last hurdle. .

The Stewards requested a report from David Richard Barry, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of It's Time Again, placed first, as compared with its recent run when pulled up on heavy ground at Clonmel on the 6th January. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed at Clonmel on very testing ground conditions and was subsequently given a break. Today his charge ran on more favourable ground conditions and in his opinion the break and the ground conditions were contributing factors to the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

Foley stated that his mount was inexperienced, was off the bridle three hurdles out and was trying to pull himself up. He added that he used the whip once for corrective purposes and later on gave a few light hits to make his mount concentrate. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.B. Foley was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration and pursuant to the provisions of R10(6)(a), the Stewards suspended J.B. Foley for six racedays.

104F KPMG H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Kildorrery, trained by T.M. Walsh, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend past the stands involving Optical Confusion, ridden by D.P. Holden and One Down, ridden by J.S. McGarvey, where it appeared that Optical Confusion got tight for room when racing on the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D.P. Holden stated that his mount was running in and out and he was taken to a position inside of One Down but he did not feel that he was hampered at that point. J.S. McGarvey stated that there was no room on his inner for Optical Confusion and he was riding his own mount close to the hind quarters of She Tops The Lot which was racing on his outer. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action. The Stewards did, however, advise J.S. McGarvey to ride with more awareness and furthermore advised both riders concerning the accuracy of their evidence.
