The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-
Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer of Red Sole Diva (Declared in Error) - €320195A Tote Supporting Ballinrobe Claiming Race
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Stormy Air (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met with interference soon after jumping from stalls.
The Stewards enquired into two incidents on the approach to the first bend, the first involving Eastern Racer, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, Grove Hill, ridden by G.F. Carroll, Stormy Air (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and Taylor Velvet, ridden by A.J. Farragher. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan gave his evidence in the presence of D.G. Hogan, Trainer. The second incident involved Commander (GB), ridden by K.J. Leonard and Grove Hill, ridden by G.F. Carroll. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of both incidents and considered the evidence, the Stewards found that both incidents were caused by accidental interference and took no further action.
195B Tote Free Race Day Tickets M'dnJ.A. Heffernan, rider of La Capacite trained by S.J.Mahon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount reared in stalls and didn't handle the track.
195C Play The Tote Jackpot H'capW.J. Lee, rider of Faerie Laws trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared leaving stalls.
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. Colleen Murphy, that D.N. Curran, rider of Mianna, trained by S.M. Duffy, weighed-in at 1.3lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned and from valet, M. Cleary. The rider concerned accepted the report from the Clerk of the Scales, which he stated was due to the girth being changed after he weighed-out. Mr. Duffy stated that the girth was changed due to the initial girth being too small when he went to saddle his charge and for safety reasons he required a larger girth. He acknowledged that he did not reweigh the rider with the new girth and accepted full responsibility for the rider weighing in overweight. Mr. Cleary confirmed that a second girth was requested by the trainer. Having considered the evidence the Stewards made no finding against the rider under Rule 231 but found the trainer in breach of Rule 198 (vi) and fined him €150.
195D Tote Supp. Irish Racing Since 1930 H'capAt the request of the Stewards, A.J. Slattery, rider of Takeachancejimmy, trained by Nigel Thomas Slevin, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount missed the break, was unable to find an opening but ran on in the straight.
195E Bet With Tote At Ballinrobe App. H'capAt the request of the Stewards, A.J. Slattery, rider of Hit The Rocks, trained by Edmond Kent, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stopped quickly.
At the request of the Stewards, C.G. O'Dwyer, rider of Military Hill, trained by Paul Stafford, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well, was ridden to get cover, was unable to get a run at the three furlong marker, pulled wide turning for home and ran on well in the straight.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Hit The Rocks, trained by Edmond Kent, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
195F Sign Up For A Tote Account H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Marlborough Sounds (GB), trained by John Joseph Murphy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal but had evidence of kickback at his nostrils.
195G Tote Proud Sponsors Of Ballinrobe M'dnThe Stewards fined I.Madden, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Baby Bellini, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Baby Bellini in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
C.T. Keane, rider of Penny Out, trained by John E. Kiely, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was very slowly away, raced too keenly, then emptied.
