220A J.J.Burke 3-Y-O M'dn H'dle

The Stewards interviewed D.R. Fox, rider of For Everyone, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(e) (wrong place) (g) (frequency) and (i) (time to respond) and having taken his record into account suspended him for 3 race days.

220B Believe In Ballinrobe M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Costly Diamond trained by Patrick G.Kelly was found to have blood on the nose as a result of an exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage.

S.W. Flanagan, rider of Costly Diamond trained by Patrick G.Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst.

The Stewards requested a report from Shane Ryder, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Clear Left, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this filly ran well on her debut in a bumper in Naas. Nothing went right for her in Wexford two starts ago. She has been hooded in all her starts prior to today. After a recent piece of work he felt that the application of a tongue strap may benefit her. She has tended to be a weak sort of filly and he decided to ease off on working her. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

Mr Donal Gavin, (Chairman) absented himself from deliberations on this report from the trainer, with Mr. N.B. Wachman acting as Chairman.

220C Yupana Inc California H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the run to the last hurdle involving Derby De Thaix (FR), ridden by K.J. Brouder, Youngnedofthehill, ridden by R.M. Power, and Crafty Codger, ridden by R.P. Treacy, where it appeared Derby De Thaix (FR) and Crafty Codger received bumps from Youngnedofthehill running between them. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that interference took place but didn't apportion blame to any rider so took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mosstown Miller, trained by P.J.Hassett, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from E. McNamara, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Alfred Wegener, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this horse had been generally disappointing since winning at Limerick. Today they decided to change tactics and ride him more prominently and he seemed to get the run of the race by getting a free run up front. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

220D Burleigh Accountancy H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Lever Du Soleil (FR), trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed R.M. Power, rider of Humaniste, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account suspended him for 1 race day.

220E RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Good Luck Hope, trained by J.A. Nash, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis.

D.J. Mullins, rider of Big Tree trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount's saddle slipped.

R.M. Power, rider of Good Luck Hope trained by J.A. Nash, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right all the way.

220F Broderick's Electrical H'cap H'dle

The Stewards interviewed R.P. Treacy, rider of Trendsetter, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his record into account suspended him for 1 race day.

The Stewards wished to interviewed C.J. Orr, rider of Bridge Native, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. The rider accepted that he had three previous breaches of Reg.10.3. since the new Whip Regulations came into effect. Having considered the rider's acceptance of his disciplinary record in relation to Reg.10.3., the Stewards pursuant to Reg.10.6. referred the matter to the Referrals Committee for consideration.
