The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Shaboozee, ridden by J.J. Slevin, and trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's representative Mr. Damian Byrne. J.J. Slevin stated that his instructions were to get his mount to settle and jump, take his time in the early stages of the race. He added his horse didn't travel well, didn't jump well, and after the fourth last felt he was out of the race before he ran on past tired horses after a couple of horses were hampered by the faller on the flat. He further added it was the horses first run in a long time and he isn't easy to train at home. Mr. Damian Byrne confirmed the instructions given adding he is difficult to train which explains the absence from the track and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Shaboozee was post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Itaintmebabe, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J. Smith, rider of Itaintmebabe, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount plunged on the way to post and again when the race started.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Ms E.L. Herbison, rider of Jonny Carrol, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that her whip arm went above her shoulder on a number of occasions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(h)(arm above shoulder) and having considered her clean record, they suspended her for two racedays. Furthermore the Raceday Stewards advised her to be more mindful of her conduct during Stewards enquiries.

The Raceday Stewards advised Gordon Elliott, trainer of Itaintmebabe, through his representative that a repeat performance of his charge, who was unruly on the way to the start before being reluctant to jump off and pulling up after a furlong, may render the animal liable for suspension in future.
