092B1 O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey M'dn H'dle
A. Leahy, rider of Cornaroya Rocco, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung very badly right turning in.
092B2 O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey M'dn H'dleThe Raceday Stewards received a report from Ms. N. O'Connor, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, that she was unable to positively identify Million Dollar Man, trained by Thomas Corish, from the markings contained in the passport presented for this horse. Evidence was heard from the trainer and the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer. Ms. O'Connor stated that while the microchip was correct there were numerous significant discrepancies in the markings and she couldn't positively identify the horse. The trainer explained that he didn't check the markings. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Million Dollar Man and referred the matter to a Senior Racing Official for further investigation.
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Time Is A Thief, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left up the straight.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Lanzhou (FR), ridden by S. Fitzgerald, and trained by J.P. Flavin. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. S. Fitzgerald, stated that his instructions were to jump off last and get his mount settled as he had a hard race yesterday. His mount was keen and made a mistake with a circuit to go. He stated that he wasn't happy with his mount and probably should have pulled up from three out as his horse was empty. J.P. Flavin, stated that this is a keen horse at home and he wanted to get him settled which is why he wanted him dropped-in today. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that the horse was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the trainer's explanation but found S. Fitzgerald in breach of Rule 216 (b) and suspended him for two race days.
092C O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards requested a report from Daniel G. Murphy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Just For One, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that today's better ground may have accounted for the apparent improvement. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation.
092D O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey (M) H'cap HdleThe Raceday Stewards granted a request from Gerard Keane, trainer of Yoursimplythebest, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Official as per the provisions of Rule 90(i).
092E O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey Beginners S'chThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Drop A Threat, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
092F O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey H'cap S'chaseD.E. Mullins, rider of Teescomponentsyess, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump at the first.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident at the bend past the stands on the first circuit involving Lake Chad, ridden by Niall Moore, Toor Moon, ridden by L. Quinlan, and Likable Chancer, ridden by D. King where it appeared Lake Chad and Toor Moon got tight for room on the inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. L. Quinlan stated that he was riding one off the rail, as he comes to the bend it gets a little tight but he didn't receive much pressure. N. Moore stated that it gets a small bit tight at the bend, he was trying to take back when the horse on his outer changed leads. D. King stated that he maintained a straight line to the bend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards advised D. King to ride with more awareness in future and advised N. Moore regarding the accuracy of his evidence.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Philip Fenton, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Lake Chad, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that a return to better ground may have accounted for the apparent improvement. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered.
092G O'Driscolls Irish Whiskey Hunters SchaseThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Tinnock Force trained by Barry John Walsh was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.
