The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr. F.J. Gillen, rider of Annalough, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. F.J. Gillen was in breach of R.10.3(b)(out of contention) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.
P. Cleary, rider of Cola Blaze, trained by Nigel Thomas Slevin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. This was subsequently confirmed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer.
J.G. Gilligan, rider of Leva Deva, trained by Darren Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very green.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident close to the line involving Lumiere Du Large (FR), ridden by Sam Ewing and Crystabel, ridden by J.J. Slevin, where it appeared the two horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
120C Rosses Point Caravan Park H'cap H'dleG. Brouder, rider of Lakefield Flyer, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered at the start and suffered pressure from the outside. Having reviewed the recording of the start, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
S. O'Callaghan, rider of Sidiriya, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount missed the start and as a result was slowly away.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning down the back involving Moulane West, ridden by J.P. Shinnick, Bowgate Street, ridden by P.K. Donovan and Centaq, ridden by P.J. O'Hanlon, where it appeared Moulane West took a check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.P. Shinnick stated that he took a precautionary check when he felt pressure from the outside. P.K. Donovan stated that he rode the bend as normal and maintained his line. P.J. O'Hanlon stated that he felt pressure from the outside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the start of this race. Evidence was heard from the IHRB Starter and riders concerned. C. Brassil stated that he was trying to get a good start and did not attempt to jump off earlier than he should have. H.E. Sexton stated that his mare became very difficult on the riders first approach to the starter and that he was trying his best to keep his mount under control. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted H.E. Sexton's explanation that his mare was a very difficult ride. Furthermore the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that C. Brassil was in breach of Rule 208(v)(b), in that he had not complied with the instructions from the starter and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for one raceday.
120E Johnston Farm Equipment H'cap H'dleThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Brian Barry, rider of Love Like This, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Brian Barry was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays.
H.E Sexton, rider of Lady's Choice, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount went wrong and pulled up.
E. Walsh, rider of Golden Order, trained by Patrick John Reilly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right at the first.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after the start involving Friar Hogan, ridden by S.F. O'Keeffe, Button Rock, ridden by Sam Ewing, Island McCoo, ridden by Niall Moore, Lariat (GB), ridden by D. Meyler and Road To The Weir, ridden by A.M. King, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.F. O'Keeffe stated that he felt pressure from the outside. Sam Ewing stated that he felt pressure from the outside. Niall Moore stated that as the horses came round the bend they came in. D. Meyler stated that horses in front of him came in around the bend and caused a knock on effect. A.M. King stated that his mount was taking him forward, but accepted that he was not clear rounding the bend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that A.M. King, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for three racedays.
The Raceday Stewards received a report from, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that J. Smith, rider of The Eggler, weighed in at 1.2lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who apologised stating that after weighing out he had a drink of water and that he misjudged how much he had drank. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. Smith was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his clean record, they cautioned him on this occasion.
Liam P Cusack, trainer of Lariat (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge recieved a bump and was struck into and is lame behind post race.
120F Solar Generation H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined The Miracle Man, trained by A.L.T.Moore, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
