P.M. O'Brien, rider of Captain Kate, trained by E.Sheehy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up, never travelled.

Sam Ewing, rider of Hay Baby, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left under pressure.

Owing to the low lying sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for fences five, six and seven to be omitted from this race.

S.D. Torrens, rider of Figurehead, trained by Michael G. Cleary, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right up the straight.

351C I.S.F. EBF (Fillies) Academy H'dle

The Raceday Stewards received a report form the IHRB Veterinary Officer that David Harry Kelly trainer of Pennies In A Well, had failed to present the passport for his charge when requested to do so. Evidence was heard from the trainers representative on the day Mr Keiran Fanning who accepted that this was an oversight on his part and apologised. Having considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that David Harry Kelly was in breach of Rule 85(i) and having considered his clean record in this regard they issued a fine of €200 through his Authorised Representative.

Owing to the low lying sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for hurdles four and five to be omitted from this race.

E. Walsh, rider of Ann Bulkley, trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran keen and clipped a heel as a result. Having a viewed the recording of the race, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards received a report form the IHRB Veterinary Officer that E. Buckley trainer of Copper Rocker, had failed to present the passport for his charge when requested to do so. Evidence was heard from the trainer who accepted that this was an oversight on his part and apologised. Having considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that E. Buckley was in breach of Rule 85(i) and having considered his clean record in this regard they issued a fine of €200.

Evidence was heard from the trainer who accepted that this was an oversight on his part and apologised. Having considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Padraig Roche was in breach of Rule 85(i) and having considered his clean record in this regard they issued a fine of €200.

Owing to the low lying sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for hurdles four and five to be omitted from this race.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, R.A. Doyle, rider of Can Happen, trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stayed on one paced.

351G Connolly's RED MILLS EBF Auct. M'dn Hdle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Vitorio Piel (FR), ridden by D. Meyler, placed second and Yeshil, ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. Meyler stated that his mount was carried off his line by Yeshil and subsequently lost momentum. J.J. Slevin stated that his mount leaned and lugged after the last but made every effort to straighten up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

351H Matchbook Best Odds On Horse H'cap H'dle

T. Power Roche, rider of Without Exception, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount missed the third last hurdle and never travelled thereafter.

C. Brassil, rider of Run For Cover, trained by Martin Brassil, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left.

A. Balfe, rider of Ponderosa Lady, trained by Gerard Keane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled on the ground.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Without Exception, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr B.M. Coonan, rider of My Good Pal, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions stating that he felt some strikes did not connect. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr B.M. Coonan was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for six racedays.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr K.P. Healy, rider of Blue Reed (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr K.P. Healy was in breach of Regulation 10.3.(h)(arm above shoulder height) having considered his record in this regard (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays.

Prior to the running of the fifth race, the Raceday Stewards withdrew Centreofattention, trained by E. Bolger, as the horse presented to the IHRB for scanning after saddling as Centreofattention was in fact Don’t Tell Jack, also trained by E. Bolger. It subsequently became apparent that the horse Centreofattention had participated in the second race and not the declared horse Don’t Tell Jack, finishing unplaced. The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr. Frank Berry, Authorised Representative for E.Bolger, M.P. Walsh, rider, Joan Taylor, IHRB Veterinary Officer and James Casey, IHRB Veterinary Assistant. Since the winner alright had been signalled following the second race, the Raceday Stewards were unable to take any further action in relation to that race, and referred the entire matter onto a Senior Racing Official for further investigation. Mr. J. Collins and Mr. C.J. O'Reilly recused themselves from this enquiry.
