The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Mistyburn trained by P.J. Rothwell, and ridden by T. Power Roche. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. T. Power Roche stated that his instructions were to drop in towards the rear of the field and get his mount to finish out his race. He further added that his mount was flat out all the way and was impeded twice in the home straight and felt his mount needed further. P.J Rothwell confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with both the performance of horse and rider. He also added that Mistyburn had undergone a wind procedure recently and they applied new tactics today as his charge ran very disappointing on its previous run where he made the running and faded out of the race late on. The IHRB Veteniary Officer examined Mistyburn and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were also taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted explanations offered in relation to Rule 212. However they were satisfied that T. Power Roche was in breach of Rule 213(ii),in that he failed to report something that might have affected the running of his horse and having considered his record in this regard(second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended T. Power Roche for two racedays.
