The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:
D. Egan replaced O. Murphy on Chirac, trained by John James Feane (Race 2)(transport difficulties).061A Westin Homes Supporting Kildare LGFA Hcp
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mc Loven (GB), trained by Sean Davis, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed J. Cleary, rider of Magical Vision, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation and stated that his last strike was for corrective purposes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. Cleary was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays.
J. Cleary, rider of Magical Vision, trained by Aidan Anthony Howard, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right up the straight.
J. Pietropaolo, rider of Unfamiliar, trained by Kevin Michael Smith, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled early on.
061B DAR Golf H'capThe Raceday Stewards interviewed O. Murphy, the declared rider of Chirac, regarding his failure to present to weigh out for race two. O. Murphy stated that his initial flight was cancelled and his second flight was delayed so he was unable to make the second race. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted his explanation and took no further action.
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Simmering Seas, trained by Derek McCormack, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount caught a heel in running.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one and a half furlongs from the finish involving Subiaco, ridden by L.F. Roche, Simmering Seas, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and Iryna's Star, ridden by W. Joyce where it appeared Simmering Seas clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.A. Heffernan stated that a gap appeared for a few strides and on filling it things became tight. He further added that in hindsight he should have took a pull. L.F. Roche stated that his mount was weakening and kept straight. W. Joyce stated that his mount got a bump from behind and she went left. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
061E Irish Racing Writers Assoc. Madrid H'capThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident close to the line involving Causeway, ridden by R.L. Moore, placed first, and Controlled, ridden by S. Foley, placed second, where it appeared the two horses came close together. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
061G Aesop's Fables Irish EBF (Fillies) M'dnThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident approximately 200 yards from the finish involving Fleur De Provence, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed second, and White Sand Beach (USA), ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed third, where it appeared White Sand Beach ducked into the path of Fleur De Provence. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
061H TRM Nutrition Best-Turned-Out RaceThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Straight Up, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
