167D Greemount Suite @ Limerick H'capThe Raceday Stewards fined Andrew Lee, trainer, €65 for failing to fit the incorrect headgear to Saith Seren (GB), prior to entering the parade ring.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Bright Image, trained by C.P.Donoghue, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
L.T. McAteer, rider of Oitentinha, trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.
167E Irish EBF Martin Molony StakesThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Arouet (FR), trained by P. Twomey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Goodie Two Shoes, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
167F McMahons Builders Providers M'dnThe Raceday Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Themis, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Mick Halford, Authorised Representative for the trainer reported that the significant step up in trip on testing ground today may have contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the first furlong and a half involving Wrob And Wryan, ridden by R.C. Colgan, Cascade Canyon, ridden by R.P. Cleary, Second Line, ridden by N.M. Crosse, and Themis, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan stated that he received a minor bump from his outside. N.M. Crosse stated that he took a precautionary check. R.C. Colgan stated that his mount was running keen and he wanted to follow R.P. Cleary. R.P. Cleary stated that his mount shifted to his right despite his best efforts. He added that he was aware of the horse on his inner and felt he was clear at the time. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards gave R.P. Cleary the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and took no further action.
167G Racing Again On 2nd July H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Quatre Bras, trained by Richard John O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Battle Of Maldon, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be be blowing hard post race.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final furlong, involving Satono Chevalier, ridden by P.A. Harnett, placed first, and Chemdawg, ridden by L.T. McAteer, placed second, where it appeared slight contact was made between the two. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Eben Zaabeel (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, and trained by A.J.Martin. Evidence was heard from the rider and the trainers Authorised Representative, Ms. Cathy O'Leary. J.A. Heffernan stated that his instructions were to try and get his mount to relax and not to be amongst horses. He stated that his mount has a wind problem and he kept filling him up to come home well. He added that he is a free going horse who wears a tongue tie and was delighted with the run. He further added that his mount has been running too free in his previous runs and wasn't coming home. When questioned on his riding in the straight, he stated that he used his whip twice and kept a straight line up the straight. Ms. Cathy O'Leary confirmed the instructions given and expressed her satisfaction with the ride. She added that he is a very head strong horse who would be hard to settle on the ground and she was happy with both the ride and the run. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J.A. Heffernan and A.J. Martin in breach of Rule 212(A)(ii)(failing to obtain from the Horse timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve the best possible place). Having considered J.A. Heffernans clean record in this regard, they suspended him for fourteen racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee. Having considered A.J. Martins clean record in this regard, they fined him €3000. Furthermore, they suspended Eben Zaabeel for 60 days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212(c)(d).
L.T. McAteer, rider of Chemdawg, trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump a furlong down.
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident about a furlong after leaving the stalls involving Dawn Coming, ridden by Adam Caffrey, and Eben Zaabeel (GB), ridden by J.A. Heffernan, where it appeared Dawn Coming had to take a check. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
