046A RED MILLS Irish EBF Auct. Novice H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Somersby Roost, ridden by P.T. Enright, and trained by Oliver McKiernan. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainers representative Alfonso Vidal. P.T. Enright said his instructions were to drop his mount in and get her to relax, creep into the race and try to get her to come home well. He added he tried to follow the fancied horses into the straight and try to preserve his challenge until the run to the last which in his opinion helped his mount to obtain his best possible placing. Alfonso Vidal confirmed the instructions given and added that his charge was fit and well to run a good race. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that the animal was of a nervous disposition but was clinically normal post race. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations of both the rider and trainer.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ryan's Son, trained by Liz Doyle, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be one out of ten lame on its right hind post race.

046B Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dle

Following communication from The British Horseracing Authority, the Raceday Stewards interviewed Elizabeth Gale, the declared rider of Cock And Bull regarding her licence which was granted by the BHA. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that she only just found out that her previous employer in the UK had terminated her employment without her knowledge and as per BHA rules her licence had been revoked. She further added she has applied to the IHRB for a licence to ride and is due to meet with the licensing committee in the coming days. Evidence was also heard from Emmet Mullins, trainer, who said it was unfortunate but hopefully she will be licenced again soon. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not allow Elizabeth Gale to take up her ride on Cock and Bull as she didn't have the required licence and referred the matter onto a Senior Racing Official for further investigation. Furthermore they allowed Emmet Mullins's requested replacement of Michael Kenneally to take up the ride on his charge.

The Raceday Stewards informed Patrick T. Foley, trainer, that a repeat performance of Sam's Favourite, who refused at the second hurdle, may render the animal liable for suspension in future.

P.T. Smithers, rider of Sam's Favourite, trained by Patrick T. Foley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount refused at the second.

046D Trackman Range Novice H'cap H'dle

A. Harvey, rider of Fremantle Doctor, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.

P.K. Donovan, rider of Dahoma, trained by Declan Queally, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. The IHRB Veterinary Officer subsequently confirmed the animal to have blood at both nostrils post race.

046E QuinnBet H'cap S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined The Wallpark, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have grazes on its left stifle but was otherwise post race normal.

T. Power Roche, rider of Dreal Deal, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.

046G QuinnBet (Pro-Am) INH Flat Race

Mr F. Maguire, rider of Way With Words, trained by J.P.Dempsey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran green when coming off the bridle and lugged left in the straight.
