The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

G.F. Carroll replaced J.A. Heffernan on Unreal Friend, trained by Joseph G. Murphy (Race 2)(stewards permission)

277A Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) M'dn

G.M. Ryan, rider of Isle Of Capri, trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount spooked badly at the big screen.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Isle Of Capri, ridden by G.M. Ryan, placed first, and Nevermindtherain, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.M. Lordan stated that his mount did receive intimidation but felt it did not cost him the race. G.M. Ryan stated that his mount shied away from the big screen twice despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred so they therefore took no further action.

277B Irish EBF (C&G) M'dn (Smullen Series)

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that What's This trained by Andrew Slattery was found to be a gelding and not a colt as shown on the passport presented. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards fined the trainer €130 in accordance with the provisions of Rule 148(xii).

277C Denny Cordell Lanwades Stud (F) Stakes

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Faiyum (GB), trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Kalixa, trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

S.T. McCullagh, rider of Syzygy (GB), trained by Daniel McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around inside the final furlong.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final furlong involving Syzygy (GB), ridden by S.T. McCullagh, placed first, and Star Performer, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fifth, where it appeared contact was made between the two. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

277D BOYLE Sports Home Of Early Payout H'cap

P.A. Harnett, rider of Jasmine Affanalis, trained by David Marnane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran off the bend leaving the back straight.

Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Princess Chloe, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount hung right the last furlong.

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Virgil Tibbs, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keen into the first bend.

J.S. Dalton, rider of Real Petite (GER), trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right leaving the stalls.

W.J. Lee, rider of Cause I Like You, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount rolled slightly right under pressure.

277E SIS M'dn

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Big Cypress (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to check at the furlong pole.

W. Joyce, rider of Storzando, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to check at the furlong pole.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the home straight involving Big Cypress (GB), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, placed second, and Ryefield Dasher, ridden by Nicola Burns, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan stated that his mount didn't get a clear run from the furlong pole home and was carried across the track which he felt cost him the race. N. Burns stated that she heard a shout from her inside so she pulled out. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Ryefield Dasher had caused slight interference to Big Cypress, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred so they therefore took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Big Cypress (GB), ridden by J.M. Sheridan, Ryefield Dasher, ridden by Nicola Burns, and Storzando, ridden by W. Joyce, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W. Joyce stated that he received interference from both sides for a stride. J.M. Sheridan stated that it got tight as he was going through the same gap as W. Joyce. N. Burns stated that she kept as straight as possible. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that there was minor movements from all three but were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred so they took no further action other than to remind all three riders to ride with more awareness in future.

277F Supp. Irish Jockeys Fund Apprentice Hcap

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, that M. Popan, rider of Guinelot (FR), had presented to weigh out at 2lbs overweight, none of which had been declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was just back from his holidays and apologised for his actions. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed M. Popan to ride Guinelot having consulted with the trainer and found the rider in breach of Rule 198(vii)(A) and having considered his clean record in this regard they fined him €150.

J.S. Dalton, rider of Sunrise Angel, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right up the straight.

P. McGettigan, rider of Pepper Noir, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

K.G. Kennedy, rider of Miss Crinshawn, trained by Peter Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

277G Racing Again October 2nd & 3rd Race

A.S. Grant, rider of Anushka, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

P.A. Harnett, rider of Rion Rubette (GB), trained by Michael Butler, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was less than straight forward and boiled over at the start.
