233E McEnery Cup H'capThe Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident turning into the home straight involving Navy Waters, ridden by W.J. Lee, and Daboya, ridden by Reese Holohan, where it appeared there was contact between the two. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
D.W. O'Connor, rider of Dallas Star (FR), trained by Robson De Aguiar, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung a little bit left up the straight.
W.J. Lee, rider of Navy Waters, trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

D. Browne McMonagle, rider of Rockbury Lad (GB), trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed W. Joyce, rider of Chapel Island, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach and stated that he had miscounted. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that W. Joyce was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended W. Joyce for two racedays.
