The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Gary McGill, trainer of Morale Boost (GB), for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90 (i).

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr F. Maguire, rider of Mart Lane, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of Reg.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for two racedays.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Blood Destiny (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Kevin Healy, rider of Samui (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined John Storey, trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Princess Felicia, trained by David Harry Kelly, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.

Kevin Healy, rider of Clone Cross (GB), trained by Simon Cavanagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.

D. Meyler, rider of John Storey, trained by Ian Patrick Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount clipped a heel leaving the back straight.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Paul John Gilligan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Moonshine Girl, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Paul John Gilligan stated that his charge did not travel well to the races last time out and that a first time application of blinkers today may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Poetic Focus, trained by Andrew Slattery, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have a wound on its lateral cannon left fore and a wound on its lateral pastern right fore.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Anthony McCann, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Grace Faraday, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Anthony McCann stated that his charge ran over the top last time over hurdles in Limerick on the 10th February. He further stated that the benefit of a break may have brought about the apparent approvement in form today. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content.

D. King, rider of William Tell, trained by David Harry Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was injured and subsequently pulled up.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, J.J. Slevin, rider of Mongibello (GB), trained by S.R.B. Crawford, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount got unpaced going down the hill and ran past tired horses up the home straight.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed C.P. Millar, rider of Brandt, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied the rider was in breach of Reg.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) they suspended him for eight racedays.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Cian Collins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Brandt, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Cian Collins stated that a change in tactics and a return to fences may have brought about the apparent improvement in form today. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Melody D'arc (FR), trained by John C. McConnell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be showing signs that she might be coming into season post race.

The Raceday Stewards enquired from L. Hackett in relation to an incident in the dip involving Hope And Mercy, ridden by Mr D. Clarke and Lockeen Rose, ridden by Mr L. Hackett, where it appeared Lockeen Rose stumbled independently and fell on the flat bringing down Hope And Mercy as a consequence. L. Hackett reported that his mount stumbled and then brought down Hope And Mercy. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

Miss J. Townend, rider of Maxdale Prinxess, trained by W.M.Roper, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount didn't handle the track.

For this race meeting, the Raceday Stewards suspended the ‘Starting Procedures for Tape Starts’, and the IHRB suspended Rule 208 (i) and Rule 209 (i).

Following the running of race five the IHRB Clerk Of The Course changed the official going to soft.
