The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

B.M. Coen, rider of Jungle Wise, trained by Daniel James Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room two furlongs down and had to switch. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the footage and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Controlla, trained by Robson De Aguiar, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left from the stalls.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident approximately two furlongs from home involving Benown, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, and Jungle Wise, ridden by B.M. Coen, where it appeared Benown got tight for room on the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Ar Son Na Cuise, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, and trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.P. McDonogh outlined the difficulties previously encountered in settling his mount and said that his mount had gone to the start early in an effort to get it to relax. He said his instructions were to settle his mount, to do the best he could and not to use his whip in the race. He said his mount broke reasonably well, was outpaced through out and he never had the opportunity to put the animal into the race. He concluded by saying that his mount needs a longer trip. Joseph Patrick O'Brien, confirmed the instructions given, expressed his satisfaction with the ride and highlighted the horses previous three runs where he proved a difficult ride. He said his charge was gelded before its first run and still remains very difficult. He concluded by stating that he does not feel his charge would have finished any closer if ridden differently. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of this race and all previous runs in relation to Ar Son Na Cuise, and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found both Joseph Patrick O'Brien and D.P. McDonogh in breach of R.212 A (ii)(timely real and substantial effort). Having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended D.P. McDonogh for fourteen racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee. Having considered Joseph Patrick O'Brien's clean record in this regard, they fined him €3000. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards suspended Ar Son Na Cuise for 60 days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212 C(d).

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Venetian Power, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran keen throughout the race.

The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Leonard Paul Flynn, trainer of Heddon Street, for an additional ten minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i).

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Dark Ace, trained by Adrian McGuinness, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Kendall Roy (GB), trained by Miss Kate McGivern, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount anticipated the start.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Moltophino, trained by John Andrew Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take his mount off heels at the furlong pole. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video footage and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident three furlongs from home involving King Of Cloughan, ridden by J.M. Sheridan, Be In Love, ridden by R.P. Whelan, and Cashel Queen, ridden by C.D. Hayes where it appeared King Of Cloughan ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.M. Sheridan stated that he was travelling strongly and felt pressure from his left. R.P. Whelan stated that he felt he had kept straight until feeling pressure from behind forcing him right. C.D. Hayes stated that he felt he kept straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards felt that both R.P.Whelan and J.M. Sheridan in part contributed to the incident but that no riding offence had occurred and took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final furlong involving Blessed Voyager, ridden by G.F. Carroll, Carry The Flag, ridden by W.M. Lordan, Nobelos, ridden by R. Hornby, Cashel Queen, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Eyeconic, ridden by G.M. Ryan, where it appeared several runners came close. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of King Of Cloughan, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered at the halfway point.

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Ballinea Star, trained by Robson De Aguiar, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right from two furlongs out.

The Raceday Stewards informed Gerard O'Leary, trainer of Love Billy Boy, through his Authorised Representative, who refused to go to post, that a repeat performance would render the horse liable for a suspension.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident inside the final furlong involving Excellent Believe (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, Eddie G, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, Uncle Goalie, ridden by R.P. Cleary, and Punica Granatum, ridden by K.G. Kennedy where it appeared Punica Granatum ran short of room.. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K.G. Kennedy stated in the presence of Jessica Harrington, that he was staying on when he received pressure from his right causing him to severely check. C.T. Keane stated that he travelled strongly in behind the field and felt that as he went to fill the gap there was movement from horses around him that caused his mount to lean left. D.P.McDonogh stated that he felt he kept a straight line. R.P. Cleary stated that he felt he was clear of any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found C.T. Keane, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for three racedays. Mr. Finbar Cahill recused himself from this enquiry.

K.G. Kennedy, rider of Punica Granatum, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount met interference a furlong from home.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Copper Dog, trained by J P Murtagh, was a gelding and not a colt as shown on the passport presented. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards fined J P Murtagh €130 in accordance with the provisions of Rule 148(xii).

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Let's Smash It, trained by Robson De Aguiar, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left down the home straight.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Kieran P Egan, trainer of Silverhillsox, in relation to the delay in parading his charge prior to this race. The trainer said that he was on his own and the rider was riding in the previous race which delayed saddling. He also said that his charge was difficult and he apologised for any inconvenience caused. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Kieran P. Egan was in breach of Rule 32(ii) and having considered his clean record, they cautioned him on this occasion.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed where it appeared Queen Of Chenab, ridden by Ghulam Abbas, ran up on heels after a couple of furlongs. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Camelot Queen, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to sit for a stride after three quarters of a furlong. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video footage and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Sunatia (FR), trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to sit for a stride after three quarters of a furlong. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video footage and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
