McDonogh, both trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien entered the parade ring carrying the incorrect saddles prior to the running of the race. Both riders weighed out again and the horses were then saddled correctly, which contributed to a delay to the off time of the race. Evidence was heard from the trainers Authorised Representative, Michael Halford, who stated that it was down to human error and apologised for the mistake.
