The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, that D.P. Maxwell, rider of Roscomroe, had presented himself to weigh out at 2lbs overweight in addition to the declared 2lbs overweight which was made in accordance with the provisions of Rule 195(i). Maxwell accepted the report from the Clerk of the Scales and apologised for the overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed the overweight on this occasion at the request of the trainers Authorised Representative, as there was no other suitable rider available. They were, however, satisfied that D.P. Maxwell was in breach of both Rule 195(i)(b) and Rule 198(vii)(b) and having considered his record in this regard they issued a fine of €150 on this occasion.
