186B Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from James Andrew Fahey, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Hazelhatch Lady, placed first, as compared with its two previous runs when pulled up on both occasions. The trainer reported that his charge won an INHS Flat race at Wexford on 1st July 2022 and returned to run in a hurdle race at Fairyhouse 8th October 2022 where she pulled up. He added that no abnormality was found post race but she got a tendon injury after her next piece of work at home. She returned after a lay off to race at Wexford 21st June 2023 where she tracked the leaders before weakening and pulled up before the second last hurdle. He explained that she had worked poorly recently and today's win was a surprise but felt that making her own pace in the lead without being challenged until close to the finish probably contributed to the improved performance. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

186C Frenchpark M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Ballycallan King, ridden by S. Cleary-Farrell and trained by Barry J. Fitzgerald. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. In his evidence S. Cleary-Farrell stated that he was instructed to sit fifth or sixth on the rails, make progress to be near the leaders when turning into the straight and to do his best from there. During a review of the video evidence of the entire race, S. Cleary-Farrell explained that his mount jumped off further back than wanted and took a good hold. He added that he was not happy with his early position but accepted where he was and refrained from racing up quickly to make up the lost ground. He was hoping to creep into the race in the back straight without coming off the bridle and tried to make progress but an opening did not appear. He admitted that he was very far back in the field of runners when he made his effort to get into the race in the straight and knew that he would never catch the leader. On further questioning, he accepted that he was not aware how far he was off the pace at most stages of the race. Barry J. Fitzgerald confirmed the riding instructions and expressed his dissatisfaction with the ride but accepted that everything went wrong at the start and the riders inexperience may have accounted for the manner in which his riding unfolded. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the IHRB Veterinary Officer who stated that Ballycallan King was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations of the rider and trainer. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards advised S. Cleary-Farrell to be more aware of how the race was developing.

186D The SuperValu Co. Roscommon Ladies Day Novice H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight on the final circuit involving Bowmore, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, Walhaan, ridden by E. Walsh, Katou, ridden by D.E. Mullins and Williamstowndancer, ridden by P. Townend where it appeared that Katou was tight for room when Bowmore raced through on her inner. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence D.E. Mullins stated that his mount did not corner well on the bends but he did not expect any horse to go up his inner at that point of the race. He added that he received contact from both sides during this incident. E. Walsh stated that his mount received a bump from Katou on his inner which unbalanced his own mount. P. Townend stated that he was racing on the outside of the three horses but cornered well and did not receive any interference. Rachael Blackmore stated that Katou ran off this bend which left her with ample space to take the gap between the rails and Katou. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

186E Re/Max Team Earley H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident after the turn into the straight on the final circuit involving Dontdooddson (FR), ridden by J.J. Slevin, Presenting Lad, ridden by M.J.M. O'Sullivan and Only One Plan, ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan where it appeared that Dontdooddson (FR) was tight for room when Presenting Lad appeared to make an outward manoeuvre to challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence J.J. Slevin stated that he was trying to get his mount to finish when Presenting Lad edged out when travelling well on his inner. J.P. O'Sullivan stated that he had maintained a proper racing line off the final bend and had received a small bit of interference. M.J.M. O'Sullivan stated that he was aware that Dontdooddson (FR) was struggling and his own mount was close to the heels of Inchiquin Star when he edged left of them. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

186G I.S.F. EBF(M)(Ladies P-Am) INH Flat Race

The IHRB Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Jekiki trained by Mrs John Harrington was reported to have scoped dirty with mucus post race.
