At the request of the Raceday Stewards, A.P. Kelly, rider of Shadow Rider (FR), trained by Padraig Roche, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was a difficult ride that was keen and hanging throughout. He further added that after making a mistake at the third last he started to hang worse so he pulled him up at this point.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Shadow Rider (FR), trained by Padraig Roche, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

P. Townend, rider of Shanbally Kid, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped poor.

Mr E.P. O'Brien, rider of Nelson Muntz, trained by David Harry Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount weakened very quickly.

Owing to strong crosswinds, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for hurdles number 5 and 6 to be omitted from all hurdle races.
