275A Kerry Group 3-Y-O H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Nurburgring, ridden by J.J. Slevin, placed first and Wodhooh (FR), ridden by J.C. Gainford, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J.C. Gainford stated that he was at least a head in front on jumping the last hurdle and received a bump from Nurburgring a stride after the last which took him off his line and unbalanced his mount and cost him vital ground. J.J. Slevin stated that his horse shifted slightly left after the last hurdle but felt he was always holding Wodhooh on the run to the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Nurburgring had caused interference to Wodhooh and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the First and Second placed horses and amended the result to read as follows:
Amended Result:
First: Wodhooh
Second: Nurburgring
Third: Spinning Web
Fourth: Hands On
Fifth: Burvea
Sixth: Ifitwasme
Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that J.J. Slevin was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for four racedays.

275D Dairygold M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approaching the final hurdle involving Silver Gazette, ridden by C.M. Quirke, placed fourth, and Dixies Girl, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, placed fifth, where it appeared an incident occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, C.M. Quirke stated that he got tight for room on the approach to the final hurdle. S.W. Flanagan stated that he was returning to his inside racing line when he felt pressure from his inside on the approach to the final hurdle. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found S.W. Flanagan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden improperly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for seven racedays.

275E Strings & Things Rated Novice S'chase

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Riaan, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Uncle Phil, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Peter Delmer, Authorised Representative for W.P. Mullins, Trainer, stated that todays better ground (Good, Good to Yielding in places) compared to Yielding ground at Wexford contributed to the apparent improvement in form today. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
