The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

Maike Magnussen, trainer of Celine Man (ground - late withdrawal) (see enquiry) - €200

351A DMC Atlantic M'dn H'dle

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Twoconduit, trained by Maike Magnussen, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame of the left hind post race. Samples were taken for further analysis.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed trainer Maike Magnussen prior to the start of racing, in relation to the betting activity surrounding her three runners. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that she had no prior knowledge in relation to the betting market surrounding her runners. Furthermore she explained the circumstances behind the withdrawal of Twoconduit and Celine Man in Sligo on the 27.09.2023 as being due to the change in going. She explained that as the horses were in peak form she was happy to let them take their chances on todays going. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted her explanation.

351B Adare Manor Opportunity M'dn H'dle

P.M. O'Brien, rider of Jerk (FR), trained by William Durkan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise turning into the straight.

M.P. O'Connor, rider of Fourleaf Shamrock, trained by James Joseph Mangan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Jerk (FR), trained by William Durkan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

William Durkan, trainer of Jerk (FR), reported to the IHRB Veterinary officer that his charge gurgled in running.

351C Panoramic Restaurant (M) H'cap H'dle

P.M. O'Brien, rider of Leahs Tricks, trained by P. E. Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

351D Limerick Races On Facebook H'cap H'dle

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Ivane (FR), trained by Ciaran Murphy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Shane Fenelon, rider of Bite That, trained by Patrick J.Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount clipped a heel turning in.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident just before the turn in involving Bite That, ridden by Shane Fenelon, New Barn Lane, ridden by R. Deegan and Petit Dejeuner, ridden by J. Coen where it appeared that Bite That clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Shane Fenlon stated that he clipped a heel before the turn in, but that neither New Barn Lane nor Petite Dejeuner contributed to the incident. R. Deegan stated that he was on the wide outside and did not contribute to the incident. J. Coen stated that he held his line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

351E Mr Binman Christmas Festival H'cap H'dle

The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Lyla Garrity, trained by Maike Magnussen, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have post race heat stress. Samples were taken for further analysis.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed trainer Maike Magnussen in relation to the late withdrawal of Celine Man. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that her two previous charges disappointed earlier on the card, which resulted with one horse being injured. As such she was reluctant to chance Celine Man on today's going . Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were not satisfied with the excuse offered by Maike Magnussen and, as such, fined the trainer €200 under the provisions of Rule 194.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed IHRB Clerk Of The Course, Mr. Paul Moloney, in relation to the fact that the outside section of the third hurdle had been removed for the final circuit of this 3 miles 100yard hurdle resulting in Ballydangan, unplaced, and Chosen Shant, pulled up, didn't jump the hurdle and instead galloped through the missing section. Evidence was heard from Mr. Paul Moloney who outlined the protocol used on raceday with regards to the removal of the hurdles. Evidence was also heard from head groundsman Mr. Dave Bustin who accepted it was a human error on behalf of his team and apologised for the error. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards reminded Mr. Bustin of his responsibilities in this regard and took no further action. Mr. S. McDonogh recused himself from this enquiry.
