195C William Hill Extra Place Races H'cap

L.F. Roche, rider of Ano Manna, trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left under pressure.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from John James Feane, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Ano Manna, placed first, as compared with its previous run at Naas 8th July when finishing eleventh of fourteen finishers behind the winner Slaney Tide. The trainer reported that his charge was badly hampered by a faller at an early stage of the race at Naas when racing on good ground whereas today his charge was ridden more prominently and also appreciated the ease in the ground. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Aghadowey (FR), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be lame on her right hind post race.

195F Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med. Auct. M'dn

The Raceday Stewards interviewed G.P. Halpin, rider of Eastmore (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, G.P. Halpin stated his mount hung right throughout and his first hit with the whip was for corrective purposes to get him to come around the bend. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that G.P. Halpin was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards cautioned G.P. Halpin on this occasion.

G.P. Halpin, rider of Eastmore (GB), trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout this race.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on the bottom bend involving Notturno, ridden by C.T. Keane, and Upepo, ridden by R.C. Colgan, where it appeared both horses made contact with Upepo becoming unbalanced. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Ameerat Jumaira (GB), trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left up the straight.
