S.D. Torrens, rider of Sandyman (GB), trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered at the last hurdle.

M.P. O'Connor, rider of Woodstream Lad, trained by R.K. Watson, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the run to the final hurdle involving Fassbender, ridden by P.T. Enright, Crafty Gael, ridden by T.P. Harney and Lesssaidthebetter (GB), ridden by J.P. O'Sullivan where it appeared horses were tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. T.P. Harney stated that he received pressure from his inner and was pushed out over the hurdle. J.P. O'Sullivan stated that he did not receive any interference and felt the incident may have been caused by Woodstream Lad jumping left. P.T. Enright stated that he felt there was a gap between horses and that he left enough room for the other horses. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental and they took no further action.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed T.P. Harney, rider of Crafty Gael, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he picked his whip up too soon which led to him going over the limit for whip use. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account, suspended him for seven race days and ordered that he attend RACE for one day's tuition on the correct use of the whip.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from E.J. O'Grady, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Gwan Tadhg, placed first, compared with its recent form. The trainer's Authorised Representative, Mr. S. Iqbal reported that the better ground today compared to the very heavy ground at Clonmel last time may have resulted in the apparent improvement. Having considered the report, the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.
