The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

J.J.G. Ryan rode Private Officer (reserve) trained by J.F. Levins (Race 1)
G.F. Carroll rode Nakasero (reserve) trained by M. Halford & T. Collins (Race 1)

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr. B. Sheridan, to amend the distance of this race to 5f 205 yards, for operational reasons.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Belfrina, trained by John S. O'Donoghue, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr. B. Sheridan, to amend the distance of this race to 5f 205yards, for operational reasons.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Magical Vision, trained by Aidan Anthony Howard, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran too keen.

J.A. Powell, rider of Greek Flower, trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the final furlong.

C. Stone-Walsh, rider of Rapid Mission (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was carried across the track in the straight. Having reviewed the incident the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

R. Whearty, rider of Sinbad My Dad, trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left throughout.

G.P. Halpin, rider of Marys Call, trained by Paul Hennessy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls.

323E Tote Amateur Derby (QR) Race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the final furlong involving Lord Erskine, ridden by Miss M. Walsh, and Helvic Dream, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins where it appeared Lord Erskine got tight for room on the rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Miss M. Walsh stated that the winner came over in front of her horse and she had to check. Mr. P.W. Mullins stated that he has gone to go past when his horse drifted in half a horse's width at which point he corrected him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr. P.W. Mullins, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for four race days. .

Miss M. Walsh, rider of Lord Erskine, trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount received interference and she had to stop riding in the final furlong.

Mr. A. O. Harrington, rider of Applejack Poet, trained by Liz Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped after a furlong

323F Tote Fantasy H'cap

B.M. Coen, rider of Kermiya, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was carried across the track from a furlong and a half out.

M.W Hassett, rider of Alfalfa, trained by Timothy Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was idling in front.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Alfalfa, ridden by M.W Hassett, placed first and Kermiya, ridden by B.M. Coen, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. B.M. Coen stated that his mount was picking up from a furlong and a half down when the other horse kept bringing him across and his mount never got a fair chance, he felt if he could have held his line he'd have won. M.W. Hassett stated that his mount was idling in front, when he grabbed him up when he kept leaning but was strong to the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Alfalfa had caused interference to Kermiya and as a result of this interference had improved its finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the first two horses and amended the result to read as follows:

Amended Result:

First: Kermiya
Second: Alfalfa
Third: Stormy Jenn
Fourth: Bridge Of Dawn
Fifth: Team Of Firsts
Sixth: New Hill

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that M.W. Hassett was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for 12 race days (fourth offence).

323G Tote Guarantee Available H'cap

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Joseph Anthony Murray, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Rodney Bay, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that he could find no reason for its last poor flat run but felt today was a lesser race. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its contents.

Amy Jo Hayes, rider of Killeemore Lad, trained by Andrew Slattery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount clipped a heel turning in. Having viewed the incident the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

R.C. Colgan, rider of Peddler's Lane, trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount went right from the starting stalls.

C.J. MacRedmond, rider of Captured, trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in stalls.

J.A. Powell, rider of Lily Like (GB), trained by Donal Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

Adam Caffrey, rider of Singe Anglais, trained by H.D. McGuigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was severely hampered three furlongs out.

R.P. Cleary, rider of Sunday Evening, trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost her action and eased.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately three furlongs from the finish involving Breezy Zoff, ridden by R. Whearty, Tall Story, ridden by T. Kiely-Marshall, Almost An Angel (GB), ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, and Singe Anglais, ridden by Adam Caffrey where it appeared Singe Anglais got tight for room on the rails. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Adam Caffrey stated that he was on the inner when he kicked into a space before receiving pressure from his right and checked. R. Whearty stated that he kicked into a gap when he got pressure from his outside. J.J.G. Ryan stated that he was coming for a run when he received a bump from both sides and was squeezed out. T. Kiely-Marshall stated that he had a gap to his left, he heard a shout from his left so he waited and took back. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found T. Kiely-Marshall was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard suspended them for two race days.
