247A Keeper's Heart Irish EBF (C & G) M'dn

The Raceday Stewards informed G.M.Lyons, trainer, that Rocking Tree, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Ortelius (USA), trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

247B Newtownanner Stud Irish EBF Stakes

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Shelaka, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

247C Heider Family Stables Round Tower Stakes

S.T. McCullagh, rider of G'day Mate (GB), trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that the bit came through the mouth on leaving the stalls.

247D Snow Fairy (Fillies) Stakes

The Raceday Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Red Riding Hood, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions but added that some of the strikes were for corrective purposes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J. A. Heffernan was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g(excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended J. A. Heffernan for three racedays.

D. McMonagle, rider of American Sonja (GB), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned slightly right when he hit the front.

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Red Riding Hood, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was intimidated and moved towards the rail and he used his whip for corrective measures.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Mashia, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, and Snowcapped, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fourth, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C. D. Hayes stated that he had committed for a gap when the horses in front moved out. C. T. Keane stated that he received a minor bump. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action. Mr. John Martin-Smith and Mr. Julian Gaisford-St. Lawrence recused themselves from this enquiry.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving American Sonja (GB), ridden by D. McMonagle, placed second, and Red Riding Hood, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed first where it appeared there was contact between the two. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle stated that his mount rolled around but he straightened up when he heard a shout. J. A. Heffernan stated that things got a little tight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

247E Paddy Power Irish Cambridgeshire

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Saltonstall (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got no run.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Casanova (GB), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls and lost its action about three furlongs out.

R. P. Cleary, rider of Clever And Cool, trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

Siobhan Rutledge, rider of Facethepuckout, trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount did not get a clear run.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages of this race where it appeared No More Porter, ridden by Adam Caffrey, briefly ran short of room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

247F Bord Na Mona Recycling Apprentice H'cap

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from M.G.Quinn, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Arnhem, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Bernadette Quinn, Authorise Representative for M. G. Quinn stated that the yard had recently changed the haylage supply and she felt that a better quality haylage had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
