McNamara, rider of Cahirdown Boy, K.M. Donoghue, rider of Arverne (FR), G.B. Noonan, rider of Avec Espoir (GB), P.J. Carberry, rider of Royal Juniper and J.W. Kennedy, rider of Withallduerespect, anticipated the starting procedure leading to a false start. Evidence was heard from the starter. In his evidence Mr. J.R. Banahan stated that the riders were instructed to walk until the flag was dropped and he felt riders didn't comply with his instruction resulting in a false start. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In giving their evidence, all Riders were of the opinion that the race could have started in the first instance and they were not in breach of the Rule in relation to the Start. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that J.S. McGarvey, S.W. Flanagan, C.P. McNamara, K.M. Donoghue, P.J. Carberry and G.B. Noonan were in breach of Rule 208. Having considered their records in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended J.S. McGarvey, S.W. Flanagan, C.P. McNamara, K.M. Donoghue and P.J.
